“Everyone I don’t like is Hitler” is an old game and we all know who started playing it. And in the traditional perpetual projection argument, the response by the Left to anything, including being called “Nazis” is “That’s exactly what a Nazi would say.”
No, really. That’s how the Biden administration responded to being compared to the Gestapo.
The White House on Sunday slammed former President Trump after he compared the Biden administration to the Gestapo police force in Nazi Germany.
“Instead of echoing the appalling rhetoric of fascists, lunching with Neo Nazis, and fanning debunked conspiracy theories that have cost brave police officer their lives, President Biden is bringing the American people together around our shared democratic values and the rule of law — an approach that has delivered the biggest violent crime reduction in 50 years,” deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said in a statement.
Currently, polls show that Joe Biden is bringing the American people together around hating him. But random word salads aside, fascists and Neo-Nazis generally don’t accuse people of being the Gestapo.
But surely an administration that keeps accusing all of its political opponents of being threats to democracy who must be stopped and then spies on them and puts them on trial has nothing fascistic about it.
