Only The Full Counsel Of God Can Pierce The Heart
“Avoid a sugared Gospel as you would shun sugar of lead. Seek that Gospel which rips up and tears and cuts and wounds and hacks and even kills, for that is the Gospel that makes alive again. And when you have found it, give good heed to it. Let it enter into your inmost being. As the rain soaks into the ground, so pray the Lord to let his Gospel soak into your soul.” – Charles Spurgeon
It should be of interest to those who sit in the pews week after week listening to much of what is being spewed from the mouths of the hirelings and heretics from the pulpits across America as to why this country is literally being turned into a living hell (Psalm 9:16-17).
If you are wondering why people in this country now believe that love is now hate and hate is now love, you need to look no further than those in the above video, which are those who have been put up as a judgment to those who have put them up (Isaiah 5:20; 2 Timothy 4-1-4:).
In other words, they are preaching that which contradicts the Words of the Lord, and He declares that He has not sent them (Ezekiel 13:6; Isaiah 8:20). Yet, the people sitting in the pews are not taking the time to know the Scriptures for themselves and then wonder why things are going in the direction that they are going (Galatians 6:7).
For example, Scripture tells us:
“Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:” – 2 Corinthians 6:3
The carnal-minded worldings now believe that Christians are to withhold (the love of the truth) the Word of God that makes men free lest they should offend man’s carnal state. These would rather offend God and appease men. This is the opposite of love (Matthew 22:37).
The true meaning of this Scripture is that “Love worketh no ill” (Romans 13:10), and that the truth must be told with no holding back in hopes that men will repent (Leviticus 19:17; 2 Chronicles 19:10; Proverbs 27:6). This must be done like that of Paul when he said:
“Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.” -Acts 20:31, Also read 2 Corinthians 5:10-11.
Why? Again, Scripture comes to my aid:
“Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.” -Acts 20:26
Ok, if you feel offended by the Word of God, you must realize that is the nature of God’s truth (Matthew 10:34; Romans 7:14). It does not tolerate your sin (Matthew 3:2; 1 John 3:8). It confronts it (Hosea 6:5).
It does not give you any excuses to remain in your sins. The Word of God is a sword (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12-13) and it pierces the people’s hearts.
So, the only way to really make it non-offensive is to just withhold it, to cover it up, so that it doesn’t expose you before the Lord for who you are by His truth (Luke 12:2; John 7:7; 15:22; Hebrews 4:13).
For example, someone may come and ask a professed Christian if homosexuality is a sin (it is not; the Bible calls it an abomination – Leviticus 18:22) and they cover up the Word of God and withhold this truth because they say, “God is love, so just come as you are.”
Perhaps someone asks about abortion (murder of Children), and you answer, “Well, yeah, everyone has a story to tell, and you cover up what the Word of God has to say about the matter because you don’t want to magnify the Lord’s Law in protecting the babies’ lives lest you should offend.
I trust that you get the point (Deuteronomy 25:1).
The only problem now is that because one withheld the Word of God, it can no longer do what it was supposed to do. It’s not cutting into the hearts of sinners anymore. One is now making the Gospel ineffective (Mark 7:13). It is given by the Lord to pierce the people’s hearts in calling the people to repentance (Mark 1:15; Acts 20:21).
America needs faithful preachers, calling them to repentance and to preach the whole counsel of God regardless of whether they like it or not.
Paul preached in such a fashion that he stated in Acts 20:27, “I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.”
Friends, preach in such a fashion to the point that people hate their sin, or they hate the preacher.
