Texas Doctor Decides to Mess Around and Find Out – Possible Felony Charges for Illegal Abortion
Stephenville, TX — William Rockwell Evans just earned his place in Operation Rescue’s Dirty Doctors Digest after the Texas Board of Medicine (TBM) caught him prescribing an “abortive” to a patient with whom he had already engaged in an “inappropriate sexual relationship.”
According to documents from the TBM, Evans was notified on September 4, 2026, that his medical license was “revoked immediately,” calling the determination “final.” He has thirty days to appeal.
Evans was also disciplined in 2020, when he not only operated on the wrong knee of a patient, but then intentionally withheld his mistake from the patient’s spouse when he spoke to the family in the waiting room post-procedure. In an attempt to conceal the truth, Evans somehow obtained consent from the spouse to operate on the wrong knee right there in the waiting room. When confronted with these findings from the Board, Evans readily agreed to a “non-disciplinary remedial plan” to avoid the “cost and uncertainty of litigation” – that is, to avoid being found undeniably guilty and then be required to pay up for it.
“This guy already showed the Board of Medicine that he was both incompetent and lacked all integrity when he tricked a patient’s family to cover his own surgical malpractice in 2020,” says Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “It’s no surprise that he is now willing to offer illegal abortions. In fact, this is how many abortionists end up in the industry – they are bottom-of-the-barrel doctors who have failed in other fields, or resorted to abortion to cover their own illicit actions. It will not surprise me one bit if he resurfaces in another state as a full-time abortionist.”
Of course, that’s only if Evans avoids prison time. In addition to losing his medical license, Evans could face civil or criminal penalties. Under current Texas law, attempting an illegal abortion is a felony and carries a penalty of at least $100,000 for just one violation.
Newman adds, “Evans chose to pursue an inappropriate relationship with a patient, whom we can only assume he then impregnated and, in an attempt to yet again save himself at the cost of others, prescribed some kind of illegal abortifacient. Clearly, he expected his unborn child to pay the price for his own actions – and to do so in abortion-free Texas, where he risks a felony charge, just shows how privileged this doctor thinks he really is.”
