ParlerWeeks ago, Washington Post columnist and technology reporter Taylor Lorenz was given a platform on MSNBC where she quite literally cried about online harassment and threats she received as part of her job as a journalist. Due to the ostensible harassment she faced from being a public figure online, Lorenz told reporters through crocodile tears that she “suffers from PTSD” due to online bullying.
Lorenz would go on to wage an anti-bullying campaign, telling her followers and anyone else who would listen, that online bullying, doxing, and harassment is wrong, no matter the circumstances.
Fast forward to this week and we see how Lorenz plans to make the internet a better place — by directing a targeted online bullying campaign, using her position at the Washington Post to dox the woman behind the popular Twitter account, Libs of TikTok, and have people harass her.
On Monday night, Governor Ron DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw tweeted a screen shot of an email from Lorenz seeking comment about her story “exposing the woman behind the ‘Libs of TikTok account.”

Monday morning the hit piece was published and the WaPo successfully doxed the owner of Libs of TikTok — ensuring future harassment, death threats, and possibly very real violence.
The fact that a woman who just went on national television and cried about doxing and bullying, just did an about face and is using her position to direct a campaign of doxing and bullying, does not sit well with many people who practice rational thought.
For those who are unfamiliar, the Twitter account Libs of TikTok does nothing but post publicly shared videos that people publicly share. The owner of the account has never doxed or otherwise posted anything that was not already voluntarily posted online.
If people whose videos are shared to the Libs of TikTok account are angry that their public videos are being shared publicly, perhaps they should stop sharing their videos publicly.
Yes, the account does provide commentary on many of the videos and images that it shares. However, no private information was shared and no doxing has ever taken place.
The article by Lorenz published in the Washington Post today, however, does exactly this. What’s more, it actually directs hatred and online harassment toward the woman behind Libs of TikTok by claiming she is fueling anti-LGBTQ hatred.
According to Pushaw, reporters with the WaPo actually showed up to the homes of the relatives of the woman behind Libs of TikTok, taking the online harassment, offline, and into questionable territory.
Since Pushaw’s tweet about the story, the Libs of TikTok account posted a tweet telling her followers that she is in hiding.
Words cannot express how appreciative I am of the support I’m receiving right now. Thankfully I’m currently holed up in a safe location. I’m confident we will get through this and come out even stronger. Grateful for all the thoughts and prayers
She then posted a photo of Lorenz harassing one of her family members — at her home.

It needs to be reiterated that none of the videos published to the Libs of TikTok account were private. The entirety of the account merely amplified already public videos, which people posted for the world to see — knowing that their ideas could be challenged in the arena of free speech.
Because many of the ideas being presented in these videos were horrifying — like teachers promising to teach young children about sexuality behind their parents’ backs — it naturally became controversial.
If the folks whose videos made it to the Libs of TikTok account were upset that their public videos received a platform, perhaps they should have not made them public.
On the contrary, the Washington Post is engaging in targeted online harassment by exposing the very private information of the person behind the account — who did not publish anything public about herself.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald, who is no stranger to online harassment, accurately predicted the backlash Lorenz will face and then accurately predicted her response to said backlash:
“Taylor Lorenz is about to “expose” the private citizen behind some anonymous account on Twitter, and when people criticize her for it, she and her friends will claim Taylor is the Real Victim™ and anyone criticizing this type of “journalism” will be guilty of causing her trauma.”
Indeed. It seems the establishment liberal order has mastered the practice of competitive victimhood. Their mastery is so well formed that they can break their own rules, including Twitter’s rules, openly dox a person, direct harassment at them, and then claim they are the victims for doing it.
If there was any credibility left in the Washington Post, it should smolder out with the publishing of this hit piece.
