Alabama: FBI Agent Fired For Allegedly Raping Coworker – Gets Hired As A Cop & Rapes 11-Year-Old Girl

Montgomery, AL — As TFTP reports on a frequent basis, cops in America frequently commit crimes that go entirely unpunished. In many of these instances these criminal cops quit their jobs to avoid accountability in the midst of an investigation, only to be hired down the road by a neighboring department. They are known as gypsy cops and they are a serious problem in policing.

The following example is one of the worst cases of a gypsy cop we’ve ever seen. Alabama State Trooper Christopher Bauer was arrested last week on charges stemming from the violent rape of an 11-year-old girl. Bauer, 41, now faces charges including sodomy and sexual abuse of a child under 12. He is currently in jail on $105,000 bail.

Officials are scrambling this week to understand how Bauer was even hired as a cop given his horrifying past at a previous department. According to a scathing report from the Associated Press, Bauer allegedly raped a coworker at knifepoint during his tenure at the FBI in New Orleans.

While under investigation, Bauer was fired from his job at the FBI only to move two states over and be hired as a state trooper. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the state police, told AP that it conducted a “full and thorough” investigation into Bauer’s background when he applied to be a trooper in 2019 and that “no derogatory comments were uncovered by former employers.”

But this was simply not true.

Bauer simply showed up with a forged letter stating that he was still employed with the FBI and he was immediately hired. Had anyone at the State Troopers office simply called the FBI in New Orleans, they would have quickly found out that Bauer is alleged to have raped a fellow FBI agent. But this did not happen.

“You have to ask yourself why an agent from the FBI would want to leave after 10 years,” said Lou Reiter, a policing consultant and former deputy chief with the Los Angeles Police Department. “They obviously didn’t do any kind of due diligence with their background check.”

“There have to be phone calls,” added Michael Avery, a retired professor at Suffolk University’s Law School and an expert on police misconduct.

Instead of the agency making that phone call, the alleged rapist was hired in 2019 and went on to later rape a child in 2021.

“Nobody wants to take responsibility,” the former co-worker who accused Bauer of rape told the AP. “I didn’t want this to happen to anybody else.”

“He flat-out needed to lose his job, and he really should have been charged criminally,” she said.

According to the victim, the abuse was not a one-time incident and Bauer repeatedly preyed on her. The woman told AP that Bauer sexually assaulted her so frequently her hair began to fall out.

“It was a year of torture,” she said. “He quite literally would keep me awake for days. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep, and in six months I went from 150 pounds to 92 pounds. I was physically dying from what he was doing to me.”

“I couldn’t see any more and felt my legs go out from under me,” the woman wrote in an application for a protective order against Bauer. “He told me many times if I went to war with him I would lose. He told me many times he would destroy me.”

As the AP reports:

Bauer’s co-worker told AP that Louisiana authorities had been pursuing criminal charges in St. Tammany Parish, north of New Orleans, but she didn’t believe she had enough evidence to go forward.

The allegations also played out in a restraining order obtained by the co-worker that names Bauer and had been in the public record in Louisiana for a year when Alabama hired him as a trooper. In it, the woman accuses the lawman of choking her, adding she was “scared for my life.”

Bauer was ordered to surrender his “firearms, weapons, swords and knives” as part of the case.

Bauer is the perfect example of why bills to prevent gypsy cops, like the one presented in New York, are so important. Even if the rape allegations were entirely false, Bauer broke multiple FBI policies and was fired. This should make him unemployable in law enforcement. Instead, he simply moved 100 miles away and raped a little girl as he carried his badge and gun.

This has to stop. As we reported, according to the bill in New York, officers who resign while under investigation, while they are the subject of disciplinary action that could result in their termination, or while facing pending criminal charges resulting from their actions while on duty would be unable to be hired in the state as a police officer.

The fact that this is not the case already is utter insanity. How many more innocent people need to be killed, raped, beaten, or maimed by cops who have no business possessing a badge and a gun before this sensible action is taken on a national level?
