America, Cast Down Your Bucket – Kick Out Illegals!

“To those of the white race who look to the incoming of those of foreign birth and strange tongue and habits for the prosperity of the South, were I permitted I would repeat what I say to my own race, “Cast down your bucket where you are.”

– Booker T. Washington, the Atlanta Exposition Speech, Sept. 18, 1895

Over a hundred years ago, the great Booker T. Washington answered the immigration question for all time. In the space of a five-minute speech, Booker T. exhorted white Americans (above) after saying to black Americans:

“To those of my race who depend on bettering their condition in a foreign land or who underestimate the importance of cultivating friendly relations with the Southern white man, who is their next-door neighbor, I would say: ‘Cast down your bucket where you are” – cast it down in making friends in every manly way of the people of all races by whom we are surrounded.”

If black Americans were able to see the incredible opportunities right in front of them, they would build positive relationships with their white American neighbors. They would work hand-in-glove to strengthen their own lives and that of their communities. There would be no need to bring massive foreign labor into the U.S.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Kathryn Steinle was murdered while walking with her father in San Francisco. An illegal-alien criminal, Francisco Sanchez, is charged with the killing. Sanchez had been deported five times, bolstering Donald Trump’s statements about Mexico sending its worst to the U.S.

Kathryn was laid to rest Friday with little fanfare, especially from the White House. As Fox News’ Megyn Kelly passionately explained:

“A stark contrast to what we saw after Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson. A man we know was attacking a police officer at the time of his death. His funeral saw three Obama officials in attendance, his death drew comments from President Obama personally and his administration also sent in the DOJ and 40 FBI agents dispatched to Missouri after Michael Brown was killed. Where is the swarm of agents in San Francisco?

“Then there was Freddie Gray in Baltimore, a repeat drug offender who was killed in police custody. Here again his funeral was attended by three Obama administration officials, and again the president spoke personally to Freddie Gray’s death. And again sent the DOJ in to investigate. When Trayvon Martin was killed in Florida, the president spoke to his death, which was later ruled to be in self-defense. But Katie Steinle, nothing. No comments, no swarm of FBI agents, no DOJ investigation, nothing. Why?”

Why? Because – due to Obama’s desire to redistribute power and wealth – he promotes the sanctuary-city policies that harbor illegal aliens and kill American citizens.

The murder set off a fresh discussion on ending “sanctuary-city” policies in the U.S.

Sanctuary-city policies instruct city employees not to notify the federal government of the presence of illegal aliens living in their communities. The policies also end the distinction between legal resident aliens and illegal aliens – so illegal aliens often benefit from taxpayer-funded government services and programs.

Here is a list of sanctuary cities.

In case you think the murder of Kathryn Steinle was a fluke, Michelle Malkin has noted a number of victims of sanctuary-city policies.

On Friday, Donald Trump met in Los Angeles with five families whose loved ones were killed by illegal aliens, and he invited each family member to the podium to tell their story to the press. Jamiel Shaw was one of those family members. On Saturday, Shaw, whose son was murdered by an illegal-alien gang member while walking home, introduced Trump at a rally in Arizona.

I know the Shaw family. They’re good people, and their son died because of the insane sanctuary-city policies of Los Angeles. Everyone from Obama to every American city official who supports this policy has blood on their hands.

My organization, BOND, has protested these policies for many years. On July 4, 1996, we joined a coalition of other pro-American groups to support Proposition 187, which aimed to limit government services for illegal aliens. While protesting, radical illegal alien supporters threw frozen soda cans at our side. One of the cans hit one of our BOND members. Watch this video to see the amazing exchange I had with an Univision reporter afterward:

Rasmussen Reports recently polled voters and found that nearly two-thirds of likely U.S. voters want the Department of Justice to take legal action against so-called sanctuary cities.

Sanctuary-city policies need to come to an end. Good organizations like Numbers USA are doing all they can to fight these polices. You can help fight, too.

For American citizens of every race who are seeking work, the Heritage Foundation has listed the best and worst states to find a job.

It is time for black Americans and all Americans to “cast down your bucket” right where you are – in your own country, working in harmony with other Americans of every race – to live out the destiny our Creator has set before us.
