Arkansas Homeschool Children Still Being Held By County DHS without Charges or Reason

As I earlier reported, the Stanleys, of Garland County Arkansas, had their seven homeschoolers forcibly taken from their home. Though they were given several reasons, all unsubstantiated, for the Department of Human Services investigation no charges were filed. They originally were informed that they would have the children returned in 72 hours. It has been five weeks.

Christiannews.net reports

Last week, the Stanley’s [sic] learned that a hearing scheduled over the matter has been postponed until March 23. Therefore, the children will remain in custody for at least another month until the hearing is held.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

This means that the County has the Stanley’s children. They have taken them and have given no reason. It seems that they do not feel they owe these parents a reason.

Christiannews.net further reports:

“They didn’t tell us why,” Stanley explained in an updated posted on Facebook. “We had been given the impression that all our children were going to be allowed to come back home with us, but now we have to wait. Just pray it isn’t that they are going on a ‘fishing expedition.'”

How is this not illegal? How can the government, without stated cause, force their way into your home and kidnap your children. Why are the citizens of Garland County not up in arms and marching on the court house? The only explanation is that they think that it is okay or legal for the government to kidnap children. This is what they have done; the county has kidnapped the Stanley’s children.

On top of this, they are forcing the children into public school.

Christiannews added:

While the family is allowed visitation once a week, Mr. Stanley says that he is concerned that his children are being indoctrinated with secularism since the government has put them in public school in the meantime.

This is ridiculous. The issue is that the county does not like the fact that the Stanleys homeschool their children. This is their way of rectifying a perceived wrong. They have no legal recourse or standing, so they usurp the right of the parents. Though there is no authority for the state to mandate school, much less its brand, this county is violating the right of the Stanleys to educate their children. God gives this right as a command. Deut. 6:4-9 reads:

“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.  You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.  You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

The problem is that we have not taught them diligently to our sons and daughters. In fact, there are those who teach them not to obey. The removal of the Law of God has led us to our current state in America. If we were obedient to God’s Word, things like this would not happen. May God bring us back to a right reverence for His Word and may He grant the return of the Stanley’s children to their home.

I deal in more detail concerning the law in my new book, An Everlasting Covenant.
