Biden’s Bureau of Land Management Nominee was Spokeswoman for Eco-Terrorist Group That Attacked BLM

Editor’s Note:  For the record, the Bureau of Land Management is an unconstitutional agency not authorized in the US Constitution.  Not only should this woman not be nominated to head it, it shouldn’t even be in existence.

Security clearances are required for various levels of Bureau of Land Management positions. Having an FBI investigation for eco-terrorism in your past should disqualify you from heading the agency.

The question is did no one check or did they not care before nominating Tracy Stone-Manning?

President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Bureau of Land Management, Tracy Stone-Manning, received legal immunity to testify in a 1993 criminal trial, court documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation show. The trial resulted in a 17 month prison sentence for tree spiking, a violent tactic used to prevent logging.

Stone-Manning testified that she sent an anonymous and threatening letter to the Forest Service in 1989 on behalf of John P. Blount, who she identified as her former roommate and a member of her circle of friends, court documents show. The letter warned that a local forest in Idaho set to be logged had been sabotaged with tree spikes, according to the documents.

“P.S. You bastards go in there anyway and a lot of people could get hurt,” the letter stated.

Tree spiking, which The Washington Post and other news outlets have described as an “eco-terrorism” tactic, is a form of sabotage in which metal spikes are nailed into trees to make them unsafe to log. If gone unnoticed, tree spikes can cause serious injuries for workers.

A 23-year-old mill worker in California, for example, had his jaw cut in half in 1987 when his saw exploded upon striking an unnoticed tree spike, The Washington Post reported.

This is how Biden’s people started out selling her.

“Tracy Stone-Manning has spent her career devoted to public service and conservation. As senior advisor for conservation policy at the National Wildlife Federation, she advocates for the wise stewardship of our nation’s lands and waters.”

Leaving out a minor little detail.

At the National Wildlife Federation, Manning’s past would have been an asset. A little spice to show her commitment to the environment. But the Biden admin could have found an equally radical environmentalist nominee to dismantle President Trump’s BLM reforms and move it back to D.C. without going with someone who has an obvious red flag on her resume. Again, they either didn’t care or didn’t know.

Since this had come up when Manning was nominated by Bullock in his Montana junta, it’s unlikely they didn’t know.

The media is doing its usual, “Republicans pounce” thing while doubling down on quoting all the praise from her fellow leftists.

Biden’s people aren’t going on record when defending her which is interesting.

An administration official who asked not to be identified said officials knew about the criminal case and Stone-Manning’s testimony prior to her nomination.

She ‘”has always been honest and transparent about this matter, which has been covered by the media for decades,” said the person, who asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to discuss a pending nomination.

She’s always been transparent about it says the anonymous guy who isn’t authorized to discuss the thing he’s discussing.

“Tracy Stone-Manning collaborated with eco-terrorists,” Barrasso said in a statement. “She worked with extreme environmental activists who spiked trees, threatening the lives and livelihoods of loggers. While she was given immunity from prosecution to testify against her companions in court, her actions were disgraceful.”

Manning and her defenders claimed that she was the victim in that case, but it appears she was involved with Earth First.

At the time of the tree spiking, Stone-Manning was a recently arrived environmental studies graduate student in Missoula. She also worked during that time as an informal spokesperson for the loose-knit environmental group EarthFirst!, whose members gained notoriety in the 1980s for espousing “direct action” such as blocking timber sales to protect the environment.

Here’s what the FBI has to say about Earth First, which the media spins as an “environmental group” mere “blocking timber sales:”

Disaffected environmentalists, in 1980, formed a radical group called “Earth First!” and engaged in a series of protests and civil disobedience events. In 1984, however, members introduced “tree spiking” (insertion of metal or ceramic spikes in trees in an effort to damage saws) as a tactic to thwart logging. In 1992, the ELF was founded in Brighton, England, by Earth First! members who refused to abandon criminal acts as a tactic when others wished to mainstream Earth First!. In 1993, the ELF was listed for the first time along with the ALF in a communique declaring solidarity in actions between the two groups. This unity continues today with a crossover of leadership and membership. It is not uncommon for the ALF and the ELF to post joint declarations of responsibility for criminal actions on their web-sites…

The ALF and the ELF have jointly claimed credit for several raids including a November 1997 attack of the Bureau of Land Management wild horse corrals near Burns, Oregon, where arson destroyed the entire complex resulting in damages in excess of four hundred and fifty thousand dollars and the June 1998 arson attack of a U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal Damage Control Building near Olympia, Washington, in which damages exceeded two million dollars

The ELF carried out terrorist attacks against BLM and United States government property. How exactly does a spokesman for an eco-terrorist group whose members carried out terrorist attacks against BLM get picked to head BLM?

There’s your very moderate Biden administration.
