After Blasting Conservatives About Respecting Women, Democrat Senator’s Hypocrisy Exposed

Senator Al Franken (D-MN) should be stepping down from his being a representative of the people, according to the establishment mantra that went out about Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore.

Franken has taken to social media to blast his political opponents concerning respecting women for some time.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

In January, he tweeted, “The GOP is showing that they don’t respect women’s freedom.”

A year earlier, he championed a woman for president who attacked women who accused her husband of sexual misconduct, adultery and rape.

Just last month, he tweeted, “Sexual harassment and violence are unacceptable. We all must do our part to listen, stand with, and support survivors.”

He then added, “I’ll work hard to get this bill passed into law and continue fighting for the rights of sexual violence survivors” as he championed a bill aimed at dealing with sexual violence.

Last month, he also posted this little gem.

And, as the Harvey Weinstein accusations came barreling out of Hollywood, Franken took that opportunity to gain political points.

He condemned the alleged sexual misconduct of movie producer Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused by dozens of women of sexual harassment, assault, and abuse.

“The women who have shared their stories about Harvey Weinstein over the last few days are incredibly brave. It takes a lot of courage to come forward, and we owe them our thanks,” Franken said. “And as we hear more and more about Mr. Weinstein, it’s important to remember that while his behavior was appalling, it’s far too common.”

But now, there are not just allegations without evidence against Franken, like there are with Roy Moore.  We’ve got pictures.

Model, sports broadcaster and TV host Leeann Tweeden tweeted this picture of Franken groping her.

Even more disgusting is that it may have been Franken’s brother that took the photo.

Listen to her account of Al “Fish Lips” Franken kissing her.

Tweeden said:

He repeated that actors really need to rehearse everything and that we must practice the kiss. I said ‘OK’ so he would stop badgering me. We did the line leading up to the kiss and then he came at me, put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth.

I immediately pushed him away with both of my hands against his chest and told him if he ever did that to me again I wouldn’t be so nice about it the next time.

I walked away. All I could think about was getting to a bathroom as fast as possible to rinse the taste of him out of my mouth.

I felt disgusted and violated.

Then there was this little gem of Franken groping The View host Joy Behar.

“It was disappointing to hear this about Al Franken. I can’t back Al. He’s a very funny comedian, he was during this time. He’s a senator from Minnesota,” Behar said. “He’s a great advocate for women. It’s just so disappointing. Men of all different stripes are out there doing crazy sh*t.”

Behar said Tweeden’s claims that Franken shoved his tongue down her throat without her consent during a rehearsal for a USO skit are “more upsetting than the picture, because in the picture he was obviously making a joke.”

“I don’t know if he actually had his hands on her, but it’s the part [about the USO skit] where he thrust his tongue down her throat, allegedly, and forced her to kiss him. That is what you call nonconsensual assault,” Behar said.

Yep, this is the same hypocrite that spoke about respecting women and he’s doing all this in public, not even behind closed doors.

Franken issued a statement Thursday in which he apologized, saying, “I shouldn’t have done it,” arguing the photo “[was] intended to be funny.”

Franken’s second statement reads:

The first thing I want to do is apologize: to Leeann, to everyone else who was part of that tour, to everyone who has worked for me, to everyone I represent, and to everyone who counts on me to be an ally and supporter and champion of women.  There’s more I want to say, but the first and most important thing—and if it’s the only thing you care to hear, that’s fine—is: I’m sorry.

I respect women. I don’t respect men who don’t.  And the fact that my own actions have given people a good reason to doubt that makes me feel ashamed.

But I want to say something else, too.  Over the last few months, all of us—including and especially men who respect women—have been forced to take a good, hard look at our own actions and think (perhaps, shamefully, for the first time) about how those actions have affected women.

For instance, that picture.  I don’t know what was in my head when I took that picture, and it doesn’t matter.

There’s no excuse. I look at it now and I feel disgusted with myself. It isn’t funny. It’s completely inappropriate. It’s obvious how Leeann would feel violated by that picture. And, what’s more, I can see how millions of other women would feel violated by it—women who have had similar experiences in their own lives, women who fear having those experiences, women who look up to me, women who have counted on me.

Coming from the world of comedy, I’ve told and written a lot of jokes that I once thought were funny but later came to realize were just plain offensive. But the intentions behind my actions aren’t the point at all. It’s the impact these jokes had on others that matters. And I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to come to terms with that.

While I don’t remember the rehearsal for the skit as Leeann does, I understand why we need to listen to and believe women’s experiences.

I am asking that an ethics investigation be undertaken, and I will gladly cooperate.

And the truth is, what people think of me in light of this is far less important than what people think of women who continue to come forward to tell their stories. They deserve to be heard, and believed. And they deserve to know that I am their ally and supporter. I have let them down and am committed to making it up to them.”

Now, if Al Franken were consistent with himself and the establishment Democrats and Republicans, he would vacate his office and never be seen or heard from again, but is anyone betting on that happening?  I’m not.

Furthermore, the establishment Democrats and Republicans should be demanding his resignation, not just based on allegations from 4 decades ago which can never be proven, but recent history of this conduct in both words and pictures.

But they won’t, because they are all hypocrites.
