Chalk this up to another thwarted jihad attack the media ignores, but it’s here and it’s daily in America now.

A man with the name Jihad allegedly threatened jihad on police officers in El Monte, California on Tuesday.

Jihad Mufaddi Khalaf Haddadin, 52, reportedly walked up to the local police station on Valley Boulevard and told cops through an intercom he had a bomb.

When several officers came out to confront the man, he allegedly dropped a black backpack on the ground outside of the station.

Police evacuated the building and sent a robot to detonate the bag. The backpack was determined to contain only clothing, papers, an umbrella, and other personal items.

Cops say the man used the word ‘jihad’ several times.

‘He was very cooperative, did exactly what we told him to do, but that backpack was concerning to us because we hadn’t looked inside of it,’ said police Captain Chris Williams, according to ABC News 7.

A community’s perception is any time a bomb is mentioned it could be terrorism related and we have to respond accordingly,’ a police officer told Fox 11.

The officer said that he believes the incident will turn out to be an isolated one.

Police are still investigating the strange threat and so far don’t have a motive as to why the man would reportedly tell cops he had planted a bomb outside of their station.

Haddadin was reportedly arrested but it’s unclear what his charges are.

El Monte police say they notified Joint Regional Intelligence Center (JRIC), an agency working to combat terrorism.
