CCP Propaganda Arms Labeled as National Security Threats (Video)
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been using Confucius Institutes at American universities and schools to spread communist propaganda, conduct espionage, and undermine academic freedom, according to award-winning international journalist Alex Newman. In this interview on NTD News, Newman discusses the Pentagon’s decision to designate Confucius Institutes as a national security threat, exposing how these CCP-linked operations have exploited American educational institutions to advance Beijing’s agenda, influence public opinion, and gain access to sensitive academic research.
While the federal government’s latest actions represent an important step in confronting Chinese Communist infiltration, Newman warns that shutting down Confucius Institutes alone will not solve the problem. Many of these operations have simply rebranded and resurfaced under different names, allowing Beijing’s influence networks to continue operating. Newman calls for a comprehensive counterintelligence effort to identify and dismantle these networks, investigate those responsible, and prevent CCP operatives from continuing to exploit American institutions.
