“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…” -Deuteronomy 6:5-7a
I just received an email linked to a video of a young lady in 7th grade appearing before her Katy, Texas public school board, because her teacher gave an assignment that required them to write on their paper that “God is a myth” or else receive a failing grade. The real life story reminded me of the plot of the movie, “God’s Not Dead,” in which a college professor required students to basically perform the same action.
With the Katy story, I am just thinking, What? Is this America? Are our children being told to check their faith at the door before entering the public school arena?
However, the real question is not what our children are being asked to do when they enter the door of the public education system. No, the real question is why are we letting our children attend the public education system? Children of believing parents need to be educated in a Christian environment, not in government schools. Then why still have public schools? As my father-in-law wisely stated, “The heathen need a place to educate their children.”
With the advent of Common Core, there is even more reason as to why those who love God and their children should not trust a system, which has been illegally nationalized, to handle the education of their children. Oh, I have heard all kinds of excuses by Christian parents as to why they continue to relegate their God-given responsibility to a system that has repeatedly denied God, but can I say they are all lousy excuses? Especially, the one where they actually believe their children to be missionaries to their peers and teachers.
Common Core claims to be a program whereby children will be more prepared to enter college or the competitive work place, but when the program is placed under a microscope, a more sinister purpose unravels and that is to control the thinking of the next generation. In Nazi Germany, the socialists brought the education system under control of the Fuhrer, Adolph Hitler. Children were considered property of the government. Parents no longer had the ability to raise their children as they believed was their God-given right. Instead, indoctrination of the Nazi system would be the brain washing that would occur.
Unfortunately, there seems to be some very close similarities to Nazi Germany and the goals of the Common Core. One of those goals will ultimately lead to who really has the decision in the education of American children: Parents or the government? With Common Core, a nationally controlled system will pattern itself just like Hitler’s Germany with common curriculum, rewriting of history, national tracking of teachers and students, and startlingly close to Nazism plan of having Master teacher’s whose main purpose is to insure teachers are complying with the Common Core mandate. A significant portion of these Master teachers’ salaries is to be paid by the government itself.
Look out folks, how long will it be before our children and grandchildren learn the goosestep?
