“Silence in the face of evil is evil itself: God will NOT hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer
What another great day we had a protesting Menards! Many of you know of our first protest. However, when that was accomplished, we reached out to the store again and to the corporate office. Both times, and in both instances, we were met with rude individuals who were insincere, didn’t care about their customers and wouldn’t let us get a word in edgewise. So, we decided to go back and do it again!
Freedom is not a game with which to be played. It is a choice that each one of us must adamantly make to uphold. So many of our veterans fought, bled and died so we could live in the freest nation in the world, and we are not about to let their blood be trampled underfoot and watch our freedoms disappear before our very eyes. In fact, Menards was so looking forward to having us come back, that they turned on the sprinkler systems throughout the whole grassy area that we were standing on before! It’s amazing what some people will do to try and squelch the voice of the people, but that didn’t stop or deter us one bit. In fact, having a little cool down on an 80° sunny day was somewhat of a blessing!
What are you doing in the fight for our freedoms? Are you protesting? Educating your neighbors? Going to the school systems to voice your concern? Anything? Faith without works is dead, as the Bible tells us in James 2:20. It is not enough to complain about the problems. It is only enough to do something about the problems. Love is an action, not lip-service, as was demonstrated by Jesus Christ on the cross. The motto of our ministry is, “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth,” and we are giving people the truth! (1 John 3:18)
Do not be guilty of the sin of silence or the sin of tolerating the abuses you are seeing take place in your country today and doing nothing to stop it. It is beyond time to stand up! As Martin Luther King, Jr. used to say, “If you can’t fly, then run, If you can’t run, then walk, If you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” Let’s keep moving forward, and together, with Christ at the head of us, we can win the day!
