Double Standard: Woman Gets 9-20 Years for Suffocating Newborn Son – If She had Just Gone to Planned Parenthood, It Would Have Cost Her Under $500

26-year-old Kimberly Pappas was sentenced to 9 to 20 years in prison for stuffing her newborn son in a plastic bag after giving birth to him at her place of employment in Detroit.

Pappas made a plea bargain with prosecutors to drop charges that included felony murder and child abuse for second-degree murder.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Yahoo reports:

Police said the baby was discovered on March 31 at Pappas’ desk after his birth in the restroom of business in Wayne County’s Redford Township.

An autopsy determined the infant lived for 20 to 30 minutes and died of suffocation. His death was ruled a homicide.

The Detroit News reported that Pappas had previously denied her pregnancy, according to her sister and co-worker, Cassandra Pappas; she never purchased baby items and didn’t discuss options such as abortion or adoption.

Pappas said, “The pain and regret I have over this really can’t be put into words.”

I agree, they can’t. Had biblical law been followed, the people of Detroit and Michigan’s property would not be held hostage to feed, clothe and house this woman. While I am sure that the Gospel message would still apply to her, calling her to true repentance before God, this is a prime example of where the death penalty should be applied as justice, instead of afflicting the people of her community with her upkeep for the 9 to 20 years prescribed.

The Detroit Free Press reports, “Her sister, Cassie Pappas, said she and other family members inquired about some weight it appeared she gained and asked if she was pregnant at the time, something she denied. Det. Sgt. Kevin Crittenden of the Redford Township Police Department said she told him after the child’s death she had known she was pregnant since Christmas.”

“Her sister worked with her at CEVA Logistics and drove the two of them to work that morning,” the DFP continued. “She said Kimberly Pappas texted her about an hour after getting to work and asked her to bring a change of clothes to the bathroom, where she had been since they arrived that morning. Her sister brought the clothing and asked if she was alright.”

“I just handed it to her underneath the door,” Cassie Pappas said. “She said she was cleaning herself up and she’d be at her desk in a little bit.”

“Kimberly, we love you very much,” said her father James Pappas. “We will support you with as many visits as we can.”

Mr. Pappas also expressed “unconditional love” for his daughter. I’m sure I would do the same, but there is also an issue of justice and justice is not being served behind bars at the expense of the people.

Where id Ms. Pappas learn that it was OK to suffocate her newborn son? What makes that any different than dismembering unborn babies in the womb? What makes it different that cutting the faces of alive babies for their brains? The end result is the child is dead!

How much easier would this have been if unconditional love had been expressed to this tiny infant son? How much happier would everyone in the family, including Ms. Pappas have been if she had just took care of her son?

However, this is the double standard the American culture is presenting to people: Kill your baby in the womb for less than $500 and it’s perfectly legal; Kill your baby immediately after birth and you’re a criminal.

God is clear though:

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. –Proverbs 6:16-19

While I pity Ms. Pappas, I am more concerned for justice for the victim of her crime, that tiny infant boy.

America, when are you going to demand justice for the crimes against the most innocent among us?
