The Sons of Liberty’s Bradlee Dean was a recent guest on ESPN’s Groundrules from the Playbook with Rick Godley this past Sunday. As you would expect, Bradlee didn’t mince words, but spoke plainly about issues of our day in light of God’s Word.
“Nowadays, effeminate hirelings have infiltrated the pulpits, pulpits they have no business occupying, and by the looks of them, I can see why the enemies of America are encouraged,” a pre-recorded clip played of Dean. “Instead of preaching against sin, transgression of God’s moral law (1 John 3:4), these hirelings accept sin, attempting to cover it with a false grace (Isaiah 30), and in so doing, they teach their congregants to war against a just and a holy God.”
A warning was given for those who didn’t want to be responsible for what they might hear if they continued to listen and then Dean was introduced.
Bradlee began by recounting his own testimony as to how the Lord began to deal with him even as a drummer in a rock and roll band, eventually converting him to Christ and altering his life in the direction it has been going for the past two decades. Part of that change led him to be involved in getting his message to the young people in the public school system all across America.
Having done 350 high school assemblies, Dean has also spoken at colleges and has recently been asked by Liberty University to help bridge the gap in higher learning as well.
“We’re reaching out to a younger generation who is being subjected to everything and protected from nothing,” Dean told Godley. “I want to be part of the answer, not part of the problem.”
When asked how he came to understand historical documents and begin to quote the great preachers of the past, Dean said that he simply wanted to know the God that put the fire in men like Charles Spurgeon, John Knox and John Wesley.
“I started to study the men that had the fruit,” he said. “If you go back a hundred years, these men of God… you look at their visage, … their pictures… they look like they’ve gone through hell backwards…understanding that through many trials and tribulations do we enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
He went on to parallel that there is a major contrast in the men of God of old with those of today saying that something is missing today.
“What’s missing is the God of the Bible,” he declared. “When you go back to Scripture, you see that those that even desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, I begin to say ‘wait a minute, that’s the real Christianity’ and what we’re seeing today is a carnal version of Christianity. It’s really a version of Christianity without Christ.”
One has to wonder how the preachers in America today even begin to compare with the thunderous John Knox, who rocked Scotland in the 17th Century to the point that Mary, Queen of Scots, said that she feared his prayers more than all the armies of Europe!
Honestly, we don’t have to wonder. The majority of today’s preachers have already told us they are merely hirelings and fleecing the flock without feeding the sheep.
Godley chimed in referencing the “left side of the playbook” (the Old Testament) and mentioning the fact that many churches today only speak from the New Testament. Therefore, they are missing out on the very texts that were used and built upon in the New Testament.
This is key to understanding why the Church has become impotent: She has abandoned the very thing, God’s law, that drives men to Christ.
Dean then recounted a meeting with the late Dr. D. James Kennedy, a man who had no problem in calling sin for what it is and calling men to repent, sharing that Kennedy’s church was protested by homosexuals while other pastors wondered why they were protesting.
This led back to why Bradlee does what he does. He wants to right the wrongs of the past and believes that if we don’t fight for the younger generation to win them, men like Barack Obama will.
Both men agreed that it isn’t anyone’s fault except the people of God. We are the ones that must repent, humble ourselves and cry out to God and then He will bring healing to our land.
Dean went on to point out the self-professed Christian patriots are daily dropping their kids off in the government indoctrination centers as they complain about the very things they are dumping them into. Many of the kids wonder why their pastors and parents love them so much that they are willing to let them be indoctrinated by the State.
There’s much more of the interview beginning around the halfway mark that you are sure to enjoy, but if you are wondering how Bradlee made it onto an ESPN radio broadcast, well the answer is simple.
“God can get His kids into any avenue that He so chooses,” Dean told Sons of Liberty Media.
It’s not about who we are, but who our Daddy is. Bradlee is right, and God has shown Himself faithful to get him into 350 high schools across America so far to present students with the truths of America’s Christian heritage, and now He has opened the door to the outlet of ESPN.
Now the question remains, what doors is God opening for you Christian to reach both young and old in America? Are you walking through those doors or are you simply slamming them shut?
