Florida: Governor Can Get FDLE & State Attorney To Investigate & Arrest Former Asst. State Attorney For The Same Thing They Have Whitewashed For Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno

The utter hypocrisy and corruption of the Florida governor’s office, the state attorney’s office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement could not be more clearly seen in this week’s arrest of a former assistant state attorney for offering help in a criminal case in exchange for sex.  Why is it hypocritical and corrupt?  Because it’s the very same thing that current appointed Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno engaged in when a victim of crime came to his office for help and he imposed himself on her for sex claiming that he would help her and never did one thing for her.

The current story comes out of The Naples Daily News:

Juan Mercado, 29, was booked into Miami-Dade Jail after officers from the police department acted on a warrant for his arrest on bribery charges.

An investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement found Mercado engaged in a sexual relationship with a woman in exchange for helping her with a domestic battery case, according to an FDLE news release.

Mercado had worked out of the state attorney’s office in Charlotte County.

Samantha Syoen, communications director for the State Attorney’s Office of the 20th Judicial Circuit, said Mercado was employed from May 22, 2017, until his resignation on Feb. 5, 2019.

Gov. Ron DeSantis assigned the State Attorney’s Office for the 12th Judicial Circuit to investigate and potentially prosecute the case on April 5 last year after 20th Judicial Circuit State Attorney Amira Fox voluntarily disqualified herself and requested the case be reassigned.

The executive assignment was set to expire in two months.

Mercado was said to have offered to “make her case go away” in exchange for sex.

Stop and consider that for just a moment.  This man had access to records to make a woman’s case go away in exchange for sex.

Now, consider that the state attorney in this matter is Amira Dijani Fox, a woman whose family is tied to PLO terrorists and is good friends with Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno.

Yet, they didn’t do just a preliminary investigation and FDLE of Juan Mercado.  They actually investigated him and he was eventually arrested.

Now, there are two matters FDLE has been entrusted to investigate concerning appointed Sheriff Marceno:  fraudulently obtaining his police certification resulting in multiple felonies of impersonating a police officer and unethical behavior concerning his claims to help a victim of crime, even though he knew he couldn’t help her and the state attorney, as well as the sheriff’s office had determined she would need to pursue the Florida Bar concerning a complaint of grand theft by her attorney.

In both matters, FDLE barely lifted a finger to investigate Marceno and simply issued reports whitewashing the investigation to say nothing more than it didn’t warrant a criminal investigation.

Keep in mind, the certification crime is heavily documented.

Also, keep in mind, there are clear text messages from Marceno to Deanna Williams that demonstrate he began to pursue her while offering to help her in the case he knew was dead in his office when he was undersheriff.  He simply pursued and pressured Ms. Williams into sex, in which she became pregnant and he urged her to murder their unborn child.  When she refused, he threatened her.

While I think it is great that FDLE and the system are pursuing justice against Mr. Mercado, I ask, why are they not doing it against Marceno?

The documentation is enormous and several former Lee County employees, including a former Lee County sheriff, all of which have years of experience in investigations, have looked at the documentation of both complaints against Marceno and know they are true.  Now, they are determined to call out the corruption of FDLE and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

For the documentation of what I have referenced above, the following links are available as I’ve been covering the story of Deanna Williams for nearly a year now.
