For All Of The Professed Love For Jesus Online, You Would Think We Would Have Won The Culture War…
“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” -Titus 1:16
The hypocrisy that I see on the road preaching in churches and events, as well as online, coming from them that profess to love Jesus amazes me to no end. They seem to love Jesus so much that they disobey Him at every given opportunity. What are you talking about, Bradlee?
They love Jesus as so long as He doesn’t interfere with their television programs such as sports, politics, and their entertainment (Jeremiah 11:13).
They love Him so much as long as He doesn’t interfere with the image, which they created of Him. They have created a god that doesn’t mind them lying, stealing, committing adultery (James 4:4), murdering (Anger in thought Matthew 5:22), etc. In other words, they love the Jesus of their own makings, one that looks and acts just like themselves.
“ I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” -Exodus 20:1-6
Friends, they don’t love Jesus enough to actually obey Him in preaching out repentance to a sinful world. How could they when they have never repented of their sins nor have they brought forth fruit unto repentance (Matthew 3:7-8). Friends, I see it all day long. When I see the statements made about how they love Jesus, often I will look to their posts as to see whom they really serve, and guess what? It isn’t the Jesus of the Bible. Once again, it is the Jesus of their own making.
As a matter of fact, for all of this professed love that I see online for Jesus on social media platforms, one would think that our culture would be won to the glory of Christ rather than to fall to the judgments of God (John 15:8; Deuteronomy 28:63)!
In conclusion: How does one justify the obvious here? Eighty-six percent of Americans confess to be what they clearly are not (Matthew 7:16-20)!
