Get Jail Time for Saying the ‘Wrong’ Gender Pronouns Under New California Law

Not sure about the gender pronoun of the person you’re talking to? Well, if you’re in California you better be careful because using the “wrong” pronoun could get you tossed in the clink!

A couple of months ago the California legislature passed a bill that could send some people to prison for “misusing” gender pronouns in elderly care facilities.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The bill, would see elder care workers punished with prison time for calling the transgendered senior citizens they care for by the “wrong” gender pronoun.

From the Blaze:

Senate Bill 219 would enact what is called the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Long-Term Care Facility Resident’s Bill of Rights.

Here is the specific part of the bill [Fox News’ Tucker] Carlson took issue with:

“…would make it unlawful, except as specified, for any long-term care facility to take specified actions wholly or partially on the basis of a person’s actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) status, including, among others, willfully and repeatedly failing to use a resident’s preferred name or pronouns after being clearly informed of the preferred name or pronouns”

The bill also extends protections to LGBT individuals by preventing care providers from “denying admission to a long-term care facility, transferring or refusing to transfer a resident within a facility or to another facility, or discharging or evicting a resident from a facility.”

The bill passed, and on Thursday, far-left (and likely senile) Governor Jerry Brown signed the bill into law.

From the Daily Caller:

Known as the “LGBT Senior Bill Of Rights,” the legislation also requires nursing homes and care facilities to allow residents to use the bathroom of their choice, regardless of biological sex. The bill’s author, state Sen. Scott Weiner, argues that religious views don’t hold weight in public areas.

“Everyone is entitled to their religious view,” Wiener said. “But when you enter the public space, when you are running an institution, you are in a workplace, you are in a civil setting, and you have to follow the law.”

Wiener also released a statement thanking Brown for signing the bill.

“Our LGBT seniors built the modern LGBT community and led the fight for so many of the rights our community takes for granted today. It is our duty to make sure they can age with the dignity and respect they deserve,” Wiener wrote. “I want to thank Governor Brown for joining our coalition in supporting this bill, which will make a real difference in people’s lives. The LGBT Senior Bill of Rights is an important step in our fight to ensure all people are treated equally regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.”

And the anti-science party strikes again.

So, call someone by their biologically correct gender, or by the pronoun that you believe best suits them… and you risk prison. It’s an utterly illogical law, passed by a completely insane legislative body, in a state that is trending towards fascism faster than any community the world has seen before.

Dr. Jordan Peterson and podcast host Joe Rogan have talked about this gender pronoun insanity in the past.

(Beware some foul language ahead.)
