He Called Me Up To Tell Me How Successful Another Guy Became by Making a Good Investment – What Did He Invest Into? People

“Some men’s ambition is art. Some men’s ambition is fame. Some men’s ambition is gold. My ambition is the souls of men.” -William Booth

The other day, our affiliates guy from Florida had called and told me that a man that he knew just invested in some medicinal products, which brought him a fortune in return. I said to him, “You called to tell me that?”   I went on, “If you could get me 25 more radio affiliates (Potential of reaching thousands more on radio) and a couple hundred more high school assembly programs to do, I would be just as rich as the guy that knocked it out of the park when it came to his investment.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Bible says “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:21).

After all, Jesus came to “seek and to save that which is lost” (Luke 19:10) and gave us a command to teach all He commanded (Matthew 28:19-20), and we keep His commands out of love for Him, because of what He has done for us (John 3:16).

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” -John 14:21

He is the author of our faith and He will also be the finisher of our faith (Hebrews12:2).

As we follow the Author of our faith, He says, “…I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19).

How could it be otherwise when we see what He did for us on Calvary?

“Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.” -Revelation 1:5

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” -2 Corinthians 5:14-15

It has been said that you are what you eat, and when you feed on the “Bread of Life” (John 6:35) and Him alone, you end up with His very desires (1 John 3:18), which comes to doing exactly what He did (1 John 4:17)!

In 1904, founder of The Salvation Army William Booth was received by King Edward VII of Great Britain, the first official recognition by a world leader of the importance of the then–39–year–old movement. When The King asked the General what his recreations were and to sign his autograph album, he wrote:

“Some men’s ambition is art. Some men’s ambition is fame. Some men’s ambition is gold. My ambition is the souls of men.”

Booth, while both humbled and honored by the king’s acknowledgement, was true to his convictions. He told the sovereign of the ongoing work of the Army in 49 countries. The visit was to make an impact upon the Army and its place in the world, but also on the monarch.
