The Iran deal continues to have a hard time finding defenders in America who don’t work for the Obama administration.

Even Democrats like Sen. Dianne Feinstein are having difficulty coming up with positive things to days about it. On CBS’ Face the Nation this Sunday Feinstein said that the deal doesn’t mean that the USA has forgotten about its special relationship with Israel. She further implied that no one should be too worried because sanctions against Iran would have probably been dropped “at some point” anyway. (Wow, glowing praise.)

Presidential candidates George Pataki (R-NY) and Chris Christie (R-NJ) were not so optimistic as Senator Feinstein with each calling the Iranian deal a “bad deal.”

Pataki said that “This administration has an atrocious record on the Middle East… then you take a look at this deal itself. What does Iran get? Iran gets enormous economic relief. Iran gets the ability to expand its military. It will use some of that capability to continue and expand its terrorist activities. The President actually acknowledged that this afternoon and a nuclear program which today is illegal under UN Resolutions becomes legal. We get an agreement of very questionable value…I think it’s a lose-lose for the civilized world.”

Chris Christie went even further calling the Iran deal an “awful” one and saying that President Obama was lying to America about certain aspects of the deal.

There is absolutely no evidence of that. This is what the president is saying to justify a bad deal. By the way, that is part of your job as president: convince the allies in this, that not allowing further nuclear proliferation to the greatest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, is appropriate.

One last thing. The president is lying to us, the president stood up and said, “inspections any time, any where, 24/7 access.” What have we found when we read the document: a 24 day period to get access.
