A couple of years ago, I had the privilege of talking with Tiffany Feder, an attorney located in Encino, California specializing in white-collar crime and immigration cases. The Institute for Immigration proudly announced that for six years in a row, the founder of the institute, Tiffany Feder earned prestigious recognition and has made it to the Southern California Super Lawyers list.
Tiffany has become a warrior in expediting the return of reservists located in the US to Israel where their parents and grandparents are under attack. After the dark day of October 7, I began to notice Tiffany’s social media exploding with the plight of Israel. I reached out to her and asked that she send me an email explaining what she was working on literally around the clock. Below is an edited, heart-retching narrative of what Tiffany sent me.
The moment I saw those red alerts of missiles on my friend’s phone on Friday, October 6, 2023, I could not believe my eyes. So many? How? It must be a mistake. The reality set in by Friday night and I was mortified. I felt my heart sink deep into my soul. Israel was everything to me. By Saturday, it was clear. We were in war. My family was in their bomb shelters, and I was at my son’s baseball game. I knew that this was much bigger than we have ever known in my lifetime. I took a deep breath and posted my first post on Facebook about helping reservists for free.
I thought of them right away, these reservists who wanted to serve and defend their motherland of Israel against terrorists. For people who are in the process of getting their Green Cards, they cannot leave until they have something called Advance Parole which allows them to travel and return with a special approval, so they are able to return to the United States.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) offices were closed on October 9, 2023. When they reopened on October 10, 2023, my first client had his Emergency Advance Parole authorization. I posted over and over and wanted to help as many as possible be able to travel to Israel and defend our beloved Israel.
My friends could not understand why I was doing this for free. How much was it worth for this person to go to Israel and protect the future of Judaism? It was indeed a labor of love, a labor of necessity, and the core of my existence. I have not stopped for a moment over the course of the last month. The truth of the matter is that it is not enough. It is never enough.
One morning at 5:00 am, I was awake and filing petitions for Israelis to enter the Green Card Lottery. It was a pleasure. I cried to know that I made so many a bit more relieved knowing that they were, at least, entered into the lottery for a chance. What can I charge for that? To give my fellow brothers and sisters a hug from afar, to let them know that they are not alone.
There is not enough that I can do. I am with them through every alert as it pops on my phone through the Red Alert application. I am with them, in the late hours as I am glued to the news.
My family fought for Israel, and I will do my best to protect it while in the United States. But my heart bleeds for each child that is missing, each child that is slaughtered, each member of my tribe of humanity that is being held in captivity by terrorists, each soldier that is fighting, each mother that awaits to hear back from her child that is serving. We are one, we are united, and our spirit will always make us prevail. We are fearless and unconditionally loving. I am proud to be Jewish, I am proud of my beloved Israel, and I am in awe and humbled by our people.
If you are here already in the process of a green card, and you still haven’t received an Advance Parol please contact me!
Please this one is free of charge. Please give our information to anyone who needs and adopts in the United States.
