I did a quick search of the ominous “Coexist” bumper sticker you see everywhere and found the below definition readily available.

co·ex·istˌ kōəɡˈzist

-exist at the same time or in the same place.

-(of nations or peoples) exist in mutual tolerance despite different ideologies or interests.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find the true meaning that those that choose to waive such a banner actually intend. Accept everyone with the exception of those who hold to Judeo-Christian morality.

Quite often, you will find this bumper sticker in conjunction with the (=) usually in blue and yellow. I do have to admit I have reservations on the color scheme as a die-hard Michigan State University Spartan fan (Go-Green!) and the Wolverine scum from the east side of my state carry those other two colors. Just for the record, blue and yellow make green silly!

Anyway, I can’t say that I have done a scientific study on the subject, but I believe it is pretty safe to associate the fore-mentioned bumper stickers with liberalism and the passenger of such a vehicle as possibly casting a vote for Hilary Clinton.

I have made the effort in the past to think like a Democrat and I fail at every attempt. I can’t even pretend to be one on purpose. There is no consistent process to that way of thinking and I believe that is what it is, a “way of thinking.” How do you adopt a mentality that wants to save the whales, but kill human life with no regard? I believe at some point the liberal mindset will implode upon itself. What do you suppose will happen when the last two whales of a particular type turn out to be the same sex? Will the liberals force them to mate going against the fact that those animals were “born that way” or will they allow them to die off in recognition of their right to “express themselves”?

I read an article the other day from a self-proclaimed liberal University Professor and he was explaining how deeply he feared his liberal students. He gave examples of staff members who have been removed from positions for offending students by simply teaching the subject matter at hand. He went on to explain how he has had to adjust constantly his lesson plans to make them very gray and loose so as to not offend or hurt the feelings of any of the students.

We can all agree that the watering down of education has been occurring for quite some time. The product of our schools and universities is no more than an individual who has shown the ability to attend, gather just enough info to pass a loose test, and leave with debt and a certificate which, in most cases, holds no value at all. Employers are now requiring bachelor’s degrees for entry level positions simply to ensure the candidate can read and write.

The most impactful inheritance we leave the next generation is our way of thinking. It is with the right mindset that someone can be self-reliant, have the ability to learn, and be of strong character. That’s true leadership.

I held a seminar recently where we had to write down one-word descriptions of those we consider to be leaders. After the fact, as I read those words, there was not a single word on that list that I could associate with a liberal mindset. I am sure most of you know it, but this nation is turning into followers. Indoctrination from public schools, which teach the most basic principles: Get in line, don’t ask questions, do what you’re told. Interactions with law-enforcement have trained us to accept that we are guilty and the burden of proof of our innocence is on us. Walk down the street with a rifle on your back and you will see exactly what I am talking about.

The next time you see one of those bumper stickers I have mentioned in this column, I want you to actually feel sorry for the person within. They were taught this and inherited it. Ronald Reagan once said: “It is not that liberals are ignorant, they just know a lot of things that aren’t so.”
