John Kerry – Hypocrite of the Week

This is a tough call, isn’t it?

The Democrats have so many candidates this week: Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Matthews and John Kerry all make excellent candidates for the Hypocrite of the Week award, the but we think John Kerry probably gets the nod…

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

And it’s all because of this picture.

All week liberals have been flipping out about the letter that 47 Republican Senators sent to the leaders of Iran. They’ve thrown around words like traitors, sedition and the like, even though some of them have committed to similar maneuvers themselves. Pelosi, Matthews, Obama and Kerry have all taken part in comparable moves with Republican Presidents in office!

But for our money, Kerry’s sin is the most egregious because he went to Congress to yell at Republicans for a few minutes this week, even though he’s participate in similar maneuvers on more than one occasion!

Here’s what Kerry said…

‘This letter raises questions of judgment and policy,’ he insisted, before Tennessee Republican Sen. Bob Corker cut him off and scolded him for delivering ‘a well-written speech.’

‘It’s not a speech! This is not a speech!’ Kerry erupted. ‘This is a statement about the impact of this irresponsible letter. The letter does not have legal authority, and I think you have to ask what people are trying to accomplish.’

‘During my 29 years in the Senate I never heard of, or even heard of it being proposed, anything comparable to this,’ he said.

‘This letter ignores more than two centuries of precedent in the conduct of American foreign policy.’

‘When it says that Congress could actually modify the terms of an agreement at any time is flat wrong,’ said Kerry, who once chaired the commit he addressed on Wednesday.

‘You don’t have the right to modify an agreement reached executive to executive between leaders of a country.’

Except that’s just not true. Joe Biden wrote similar letters to President’s Reagan and George W. Bush in 1989 and 2008. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) attempted to undermine President Reagan by secretly negotiating with the Soviet Union to hinder Reagan’s foreign policies in 1983.

And John Kerry himself flew to the communist nation of Nicaragua to “negotiate” with dictator Daniel Ortega in a blatant effort to undermine the Reagan administration’s efforts against the communists in Latin America. The above picture is of the meeting between Senator Tom Harkin, Kerry and Ortega in Nicaragua.

It’s time the Democrats get off their high horse, abandon the faux-outrage and start acting like adults instead of wounded clowns.
