Lying Brian Williams: Trump’s Attack on Media “Reduces Its Prestige – Diminishes Facts They Report”

On Thursday, MSNBC anchor Brian Williams blasted President Trump’s scathing criticism of the media during his press conference. Williams claimed that his comments regarding the media were over the top “because when you reduce the media enough in prestige, they — when they do report facts, those facts are diminished.”

Williams asked USA Today Senior Politics Reporter Heidi Przybyla is Trump’s reference to “criminal leaks” were actually criminal.

“Well, I guess we’ve yet to find that out,” she said. “As a journalist, who’s been in this profession for quite a while, I have to say that’s the basis, the lifeblood of our work. There’s leaks in every administration.”

“The difference today is the drumbeat, the pace of these leaks,” she added. “I have to say with this particular leak, even if they did deem this was out of protocol, I doubt it was illegal, but if it was out of protocol, let’s just distill what happened this week.”

“The press provided basically the most essential task that the Founders intended for us to do, which was, we outed a public official, who was lying to the public, about the nature of his contacts about what many would define as a hostile foreign power,” she continued. “That is the most basic function of a free press in this — in our society, and the president’s response to that was to have a semi-meltdown, and to accuse us all of purveying fake news, when in fact, his own actions, which were to fire General Flynn, proved that that news was spot on. It was 100% accurate.”

OK, stop right there. I didn’t see President Trump experience a meltdown nor anything close to it. He was calm and collected and referred to CNN as “very fake news,” which we have demonstrated, as well as inferring that on the BBC by calling them “another beauty.” The BBC has also been caught deliberately putting out fake news.

Second, Ms. Przybyla claims that Trump fired Mr. Flynn. Nothing could be further from the truth. General Flynn tendered a letter of resignation. That’s hardly being fired.

“Because when you reduce the media enough in prestige, they — when they do report facts, those facts are diminished,” responded Williams.

The irony in the false claim of Ms. Przybyla and the statement by Brian Williams is that she just demonstrated how you twist the facts. Przybyla did it by claiming Trump had a meltdown and that Mr. Flynn was fired. Williams have openly lied and lost his job for a time because of openly lying. So, Trump was right on when he called out the media for what they have been doing. They only tell a part of the truth if they tell it at all. He never said they don’t tell the truth at times, but he blasted them for distorting it.

Williams took it in the shorts back in December 2016 when he hypocritically attacked Flynn for what he claimed was “fake news.” Williams has a history of this sort of hypocrisy.

We reported earlier that he lied about his time in Iraq.

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams admitted Wednesday he was not aboard a helicopter hit and forced down by RPG fire during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, a false claim that has been repeated by the network for years.

Williams repeated the claim Friday during NBC’s coverage of a public tribute at a New York Rangers hockey game for a retired soldier that had provided ground security for the grounded helicopters, a game to which Williams accompanied him. In an interview with Stars and Stripes, he said he had misremembered the events and was sorry.

The admission came after crew members on the 159th Aviation Regiment’s Chinook that was hit by two rockets and small arms fire told Stars and Stripes that the NBC anchor was nowhere near that aircraft or two other Chinooks flying in the formation that took fire. Williams arrived in the area about an hour later on another helicopter after the other three had made an emergency landing, the crew members said.

“I would not have chosen to make this mistake,” Williams said. “I don’t know what screwed up in my mind that caused me to conflate one aircraft with another.”

If you missed it, take a look at the press conference for yourself. It really is not only entertaining, but somewhat educational, considering that which he is being accused.
