There are many men and women from the past who were heroes to their country. They were people who did not sit around and do nothing when problems were occurring in their land.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a reminder of what one such man did.
He did not stand back and cower to problems of his times in the country. No, he stood up and he won the day by freeing the population from tyranny in so many ways.
How did he win the day? Because God was on his side.
Can you imagine what our country would have been like today if he would have never stood up and fought to preserve America’s God-given rights? This country would be even way worse than what it is today!
America, Martin Luther King Jr. did it, so can you!
Have you considered Dietrich Bonhoeffer? He was a man who stood up to Hitler’s Nazi Regime.
Hitler’s regime was eventually stopped because of men like this that did not cower because they trusted God and acted out their faith (James 2:18).
Just ask our boys who fight against the tyrant in the sacrifice of their own lives that we might live (2 Corinthians 5:15).
What about men like George Washington and John Adams? I must say that they were the rightful heroes of this free country. Did they cower in the face of King George who wanted to keep them under bondage? No, they did not, and because of their courage, they won the day!
America, it is not too late to fight (1 Timothy 6:12).
If you love your country, you will fight for it just like John Adams, George Washington, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Martin Luther King and so many other men and women that fought for what they love… namely God and country! (John 15:13)
