Mohamad, 5 Others, Charged in $66 Million Food Stamp Fraud

One of the largest food stamp frauds in history.

Every immigrant, we are told, has an American Dream. But the dream of some is to rip off America.

6 Individuals have been charged in a massive $66 million food stamp fraud in New York including Michael Kehoe, Mohamad Nawafleh, Omar Alrswasdeh, Gamal Obaid, Emad Alrawshhedh and Arlasa Davis.

The DOJ press release describes it as a “sprawling fraud and bribery scheme that generated over $66 million in unauthorized transactions under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (“SNAP”)—colloquially known as food stamps.  This is one of the largest food stamp frauds in U.S. history.”

Truly, they’re making history.

Arlasa Davis was the USDA insider. Kehoe ran a provider.  Mohamad owned a smoke shop in the Bronx. The rest did the legwork.

But while a $66 million fraud seems historic, they have a long way to go before they catch up to the $250 million Somali fraud in Minneapolis.
