NJ Lt Gov Under Investigation Over Illegal Voters and Sexual Harassment

“We cannot confirm or deny potential personnel matters”

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherril covered up an investigation into Lt. Gov Dale Caldwell over alleged sexual misconduct and ethics issues that had been going on since late spring.

Lt. Governor Dale Caldwell is the subject of an internal investigation by Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s office for alleged inappropriate behavior with women and possible ethics violations that include the purported offer of state jobs, the New Jersey Globe has confirmed.

Now that the story has leaked, Gov. Sherril is in full ‘cannot confirm or deny’ mode.

“The Governor would take any reports of inappropriate behavior or misconduct extremely seriously and expects our public officials to hold themselves to the highest standards. We cannot confirm or deny potential personnel matters,” Sean Higgins, chief spokesperson for the governor, said in a statement to NBC News.

When asked about it, Sherril gave a generic answer while trying to duck the issue.

“I take my responsibility to treat any reports of inappropriate behavior or misconduct extremely seriously, and any credible report must be fully examined and addressed,” Sherrill said. “If the evidence warrants, I will take appropriate action quickly.”

Sherrill did not mention Caldwell by name or specifically reference the investigation in her statement.

But what makes this story particularly explosive is that Caldwell is also the secretary of state and the state is in the eye of the storm over an illegal voter scandal and Sherill’s subsequent attempts to cover that up and stonewall federal investigators.

6,600 people illegally added themselves to the voting rolls through a system that the Democrat leadership had enabled. And then decided to shut down, without ever removing the illegal voters from the rolls.

Sherril tried to blame the company even while she was secretly authorizing an investigation into the state’s secretary of state.
