Novelist John Grisham: Not All Men Who Watch Child Porn Are Pedophiles

How many conservatives have bought this man’s books over the years?

He is one of the best selling authors of all-time and he’s a staunch Democrat.

He also writes great crime novels, but every time we shell out money for one of his books, we support the liberal agenda.

Let’s travel back in time to an interview with John Grisham.

Forbes reports:

Crime writer John Grisham has said America is unjustly jailing too many citizens for viewing child pornography. In an interview with The Telegraph, Grisham, who earned $17 million last year and tied for 6th place in Forbes’ ranking of top-earning authors, attacked the widespread incarceration of those who watch child porn.

“We have prisons now filled with guys my age. Sixty-year-old white men in prison who’ve never harmed anybody, would never touch a child,” he told The Telegraph’s Peter Foster in an interview to promote his latest novel, Gray Mountain.

“But they got online one night and started surfing around, probably had too much to drink or whatever, and pushed the wrong buttons, went too far and got into child porn.”

Grisham, who is well known for legal thrillers such as A Time to Kill and The Firm, has sold more than 275 million copies since his 1989 debut. Grisham first joined Forbes’ top-earning author ranking in 2000, with a $36 million annual paycheck. He has made an estimated $200 million before taxes and fees in the last 14 years.

Grisham is misleading people here. People do not go to prison for accidentally stumbling upon some child porn while surfing.

They go to prison for child porn if it is deemed habitual and harmful.

“PORN IS AN ADDICTION, LIKE ALL ADDICTIONS, THE USER NEEDS MORE & MORE, IN THE CASE OF PORN, IT MEANS MORE GRAPHIC WHICH OFTEN LEADS TO VIOLENCE WHICH LEADS TO HURTING KIDS. IT’S NOT WHERE THEY START, MOST NEVER GO THAT FAR, BUT THE DANGER IS THERE. NOT ALL HEROIN ADDICTS STEAL.”

“I AGREE, MOST CHILD PORN VIEWERS NEVER PHYSICALLY HURT A CHILD, BUT THEY CREATE THE DEMAND, A SICK DEMAND TO SEE ATROCITIES DONE TO CHILDREN, CHILDREN WE HAVE A SACRED DUTY TO PROTECT. WITHOUT DEMAND THERE’D BE NO CHILD PORN. I DISAGEEE WITH HIM 100%, LOCK THEM UP.”

Those are reader comments that I particularly liked from this Tweet:

Back in 2017 I missed this entire story.

We were focused on our newborn child and his health issues.

Here’s more from The New York Post:

John Grisham’s disturbing statements defending child porn consumers are coming back to haunt him.

In a bizarre 2014 interview, the best-selling author said most men who watch kiddie porn are mostly good guys who are unfairly jailed as if they were “a bunch of perverts.”

Grisham’s interview with The Telegraph was resurfaced Wednesday on Twitter in light of the sex assault tsunami that’s rocking the worlds of media, art, fashion, and entertainment.

“We have prisons now filled with guys my age. Sixty-year-old white men in prison who’ve never harmed anybody, would never touch a child,” he said.

“But they got online one night and started surfing around, probably had too much to drink or whatever, and pushed the wrong buttons, went too far and got into child porn.”

Grisham, 59, said judges in the US have “gone crazy” over the past 30 years, and have locked up too many people, including men convicted of possessing child porn.

The lawyer-turned-novelist spoke at length about his “good buddy from law school” who was sent to prison after he was busted in a Canadian child porn sting over a decade ago.

That explains a lot.

In 2014, I was just starting to dip my toes into writing about politics and beginning my awakening.

It all started with an article about guns in 2013 on a free WordPress blog…

…and many years later I have made a modest living out of this.

Before that, I was a low paid factory grunt.

So what should we think of a man who defends child pornography?

Is it a harmless crime as Grisham seems to contend?

I’d defer to one of those Twitter users who has a much better answer than I…

“I agree, most child porn viewers never physically hurt a child, but they create the demand, a sick demand to see atrocities done to children, children we have a sacred duty to protect. Without demand there’d be no child porn. I disageee with him 100%, lock them up.”

John Grisham is an idiot and people need to never buy his books again.

We have boycotted companies for much less.

If you are feeling especially upset, you might consider what this Twitter user suggests…

This might call for a good old fashioned book burning.

Who’s with me?

As conservatives, we can not continue to support idiots like Grisham.

Not surprisingly, Grisham was a liberal politician before his writing career took off.

Did you know that?

Grisham practiced law for about a decade and won election as a Democrat to the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1984 to 1990, at an annual salary of $8,000. –Source

We keep throwing our hard-earned money at men and women like this who support all things evil.

Then we wonder how America eroded so quickly.

Stop it.

Just stop it.
