Ohio: Representatives Seek To Ban Drag Shows From Involving and Sexualizing Children

OK, is it just me or does anyone else have a problem with the fact that the legislature is actually writing a law to ban drag queen shows that involve children?  Isn’t this already a crime?  Shouldn’t these degenerates already be held to contributing to the delinquency of a minor?   Aren’t parents held to the standard of child abuse in these matters?  Apparently, not in Ohio. Thus, representatives in the Buckeye state have sought to write a bill to ban already criminal activity.

Republican state Rep. Tim Schaffer introduced House Bill 180, which amends Ohio’s child endangerment statute to include involving minors in any material or performance that “suggests a minor is participating or engaging in sexual activity, masturbation, or bestiality.”

Schaffer issued a statement saying, “Given our heightened focus on human trafficking and the role money plays in trafficking children, I knew I had to take action to make sure this activity does not occur again. We can do better to protect innocent children and we must do better.”

I agree, we should do better, but words aren’t going to do that if people don’t recognize this behavior is already criminal.

Consider that adult clubs usually mean over 18 due to the fact that alcohol is served and in the cases of other adult clubs, nudity may be present.  Isn’t it against the law for children to be in these places already?  Is there really need for more pieces of paper to be introduced?

Take a look at what occurs in these places with a 9-year-old present.

Now, you see why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.  Now you see why Jesus warned:

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. -Matthew 18:6

There is no mercy when you reach this level of depravity.

According to Cleveland.com, which posted the video above:

House Bill 180, introduced earlier this month by state Rep. Tim Schaffer, comes after online outrage over a video of Jacob Measley of suburban Toledo accepting money from onlookers while performing at a drag charity event held at a Fairfield County bar last December.

Schaffer, a Lancaster Republican, said in a statement that “while there is a strong consensus in the community that this situation is a very bad example of parenting,” Ohio currently has no laws prohibiting minors from appearing in such shows.

Under the bill, adults who stage performances “in which a child simulates sexual activity” or “appeals to prurient interest” could be charged with a first-degree misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 for a first offense.

In addition, if the performance took place at a bar or other establishment that serves alcohol, state officials would revoke the business’ liquor license.

If your head isn’t spinning and steam coming out your ears already, listen to this “parent” of a little boy drag queen.

But Jerri Measley, Jacob’s mother, argues that her child’s drag appearances are not sexual in nature, telling the Toledo Blade that critics have “grossly warped” the purpose of Jacob’s performances.

Jacob began performing in drag three years ago, after he began watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, a reality TV show featuring drag queens, according to the Blade. Since then, “Miss Mae Hem” has appeared at events around Ohio.

Jerri Measley told the Blade that she and her husband monitor all of Jacob’s performances, which consist of handstands, cartwheels, and splits.

Additionally, LifeSiteNews reports on Measley:

Jerri Measley told WTOL that she and her husband support their son’s participation in drag as an expression of his love of art, gymnastics, and dance. “What I am unwilling to do is compromise and not support the things my son wants to do,” she said. An August profile of Jacob in the Toledo Blade says the boy became interested in drag performances after watching RuPaul’s Drag Race with his mother. “Ninety-five percent of our friends are in the LGBTQ community and are drag queens,” his mother added.

Jerri says she’s outraged that her son’s performance is being cited as an example of child endangerment and insists he isn’t being sexualized. “I have altered everything so it is all past the knee,” she claimed. In fact, the Lancaster bar video shows the child in a much higher skirt exposing his thighs, and RuPaul’s Drag Race contains “frequent graphic sexual references,” according to the Internet Movie Database.

This mother is engaged in child abuse, plain and simple.  Where is CPS?  Oh wait, they are busy kidnapping kids from homes of parents that actually love their kids to sell them into this kind of lifestyle and worse.

Lancaster Mayor David Schleffer took to Facebook to defend the parents’ actions.   Take a look.

Though he is married with children and grandchildren, you tell me any man out there that would seek to justify such behavior out there without either being a complete coward or bent in the direction of the drag queens or children.  I mean it.  I don’t know a man anywhere who would justify this, but here is Mayor Scheffler.

I guess he would have a hard time with the men of Israel in Judges 20 who didn’t seek out wicked men to deal with them diplomatically for their crimes.

LifeSiteNews adds:

Further, the world of drag is infamous for its heavy sexual content, as are the stories of other child drag stars such as Nemis Quinn Mélançon Golden (a.k.a. “Lactatia”) and Desmond Napoles (a.k.a. “Desmond is Amazing”). Another trend, Drag Queen Storytimes directed at children in public libraries, have been described by performers themselves as intended to give children “unabashedly queer role models” and facilitate “the grooming of the next generation.”

HB 180 has been referred to the House Commerce and Labor Committee, though no hearings have yet been held on the bill.
