After Pardon, Sheriff Joe Eyes Arizona Senate Seat

Following his pardon by President Donald Trump on Friday evening, former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio told the Washington Examiner that he was considering a run for the US Senate to represent Arizona.

“I could run for mayor, I could run for legislator, I could run for Senate,” Arpaio told the Examiner. “I’m sure getting a lot of people around the state asking me … All I’m saying is the door is open and we’ll see what happens. I’ve got support. I know what support I have.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Arpaio is currently 85 years old.  He would be 92 years old at the end of his first term is he was successful in his campaign.

That is not to say that his age is bad.  Quite the contrary.  The Bible tells us that with age there usually comes wisdom if the person is righteous.

The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. – Proverbs 16:31

It also tells us that age is beauty or splendor of the old man.

The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head. – Proverbs 20:29

Sheriff Joe also shows he still has some energy at his age.

“They just say Sheriff Joe Arpaio comma 85 years old,” Arpaio said.  “Why do they always say that?”

“There is discrimination against senior citizens, big time,” he continued, adding, “I’m proud to be my age. I work 14 hours a day. If anyone thinks my age is going to hold me back, I’ve got news for them.”

Arpaio said “a lot of people around the state (are) asking me” to challenge Flake.

“All I’m saying is the door is open and we’ll see what happens,” he added.  “I’ve got support. I know what support I have.”

If he were to run, Arpaio would be contesting incumbent Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ), who has been pro-amnesty to the point that the people of Arizona sought to recall both Flake and Senator John McCain (R-AZ) after their vote for the infamous “Gang of Eight’s” Immigration Reform Amnesty bill.

Of course, once the bureaucrats in Arizona heard about the effort, they sought to snuff it out through bureaucracy.

After the presidential pardon, Flake voice his displeasure on Twitter, along with numerous Republicans and Democrats.

“Regarding the Arpaio pardon, I would have preferred that the President honor the judicial process and let it take its course,” Flake tweeted.

Once again, Flake and Songbird McCain were in lockstep with the Democrats who also voiced disapproval of Trump’s pardon of Arpaio.

“.@POTUS‘s pardon of Joe Arpaio, who illegally profiled Latinos, undermines his claim for the respect of rule of law,” McCain smugly tweeted.

Actually, it does no such thing.  It’s a part of our US Constitution as I previously pointed out Senator McCain.  You know that document you swore to uphold and defend?

What these two senators failed to address in their lofty comments about the judicial process and the law was the fact that Sheriff Joe was convicted without a jury, only by a judge, which is a violation of his right to trial by a jury of his peers.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence. – Sixth Amendment to the US Constitution

So, the reality is that the judge in the case was the one not respecting the rule of law nor honoring the judicial process.  Both Flake and McCain are shown to be ignorant liars in their statements in terms of their oath to the people they represent concerning the Constitution.  They don’t even know what it says, for goodness sakes!

In either case, Sheriff Joe’s pardon was met with enthusiasm by another potential senate candidate eyeing Flakes seat, Dr. Kelli Ward.

“Thank you, @realDonaldTrump so glad you @RealSheriffJoe – a patriot who did the job the Feds refused to do,” she tweeted.

President Trump seems to approve of her run against Flake.

“Great to see that Dr. Kelli Ward is running against Flake Jeff Flake, who is WEAK on borders, crime and a non-factor in Senate,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “He’s toxic!”

Currently, Ward is up by about 25 points in a hypothetical race with Flake, according to a JMC Analytics poll released on Monday.

I’m sure the Dr. Ward would not mind Arpaio entering the race and might even bow out gracefully to cede the challenge to Arpaio for the senate seat.

That all would lead to an interesting scenario where Arpaio would be in the very place he sought to provide the evidence of his investigation into the fraudulent documents of one Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah that Congress would hear nothing of.

I would love to see him win, and win big and then open up that evidence to the Senate and House.  Wouldn’t you?
