In the absence of law and justice, what is sovereignty but organized robbery?
What do you think of someone who makes a public proclamation by promising to uphold the US Constitution, with their hand upon the Bible and swearing to God and to man that he/she will uphold that which is found within its enumerated laws, only to find that they do the opposite of what they promised to do once they win office? Yet, over and over again, and on a daily basis, we find that this is exactly what is happening today in America.
The reflection of the US government’s “We the People” have become corrupt to the core (Amos 3:3). We can gauge our corruptions by what it is that we tolerate (Romans 3:30). As a matter of fact, you can just ask those who call themselves representatives, and they will tell you that they are corrupt (Luke 22:48).
Did you know that your said representatives are engaged in insider trading?
Insider trading: the illegal practice of trading on the stock exchange to one’s own advantage through having access to confidential information.
Furthermore, does it not amaze you that politicians are going to Washington broke and within a few years, they mysteriously become millionaires? In some cases hundreds of millions of dollars, and all of this on $174.000 a year? Quite lucrative, yes (Exodus 20:17)?
Recently, Dean Garrison from The Sons of Liberty Media, took the time to remind us of a report on insider trading. He wrote:
Steve Kroft reported that members of Congress can legally trade stock based on non-public information from Capitol Hill and the main star of the show was Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi and her husband participated in an initial public offering of Visa in 2008, according to CBS. They bought 5,000 shares at the initial price of $44; two days later, shares were trading at $64, CBS said.
The network reported the investment came at the same time a piece of legislation that was opposed by credit-card companies was making its way through the House.
“Congress has never done more for consumers nor has the Congress passed more critical reforms of the credit card industry than under the Speakership of Nancy Pelosi,” Pelosi spokesman, Drew Hammill, said in a statement few days after the report came out.
CBS said it used as a starting point for its story the research of Peter Schweizer, a fellow at the Hoover Institution, a conservative think tank at Stanford University.
About a year ago, he began work on a book about “soft corruption” in Washington, CBS reported. The network said it had independently verified the material it used.
What is wrong with this picture, America?
Ever wonder why candidates spend millions, primarily other people’s money, to gain jobs that pay them less than $200,000 a year?
That old 60 Minutes piece is a major clue as to why they do it. And you thought you were donating to someone who had your best interest at heart.
Better think again. The least corrupt politicians are, more often than not, quite corrupt.”
Read Proverbs 20:23 and John 8:44.
