The Most Popular Book in History has Made Top 10 Challenged Books in Public Libraries

It is hard for many to understand. Why is it that so many people are offended because a book is contained in the walls of the library? What makes a book like the Bible a book one would have removed?  It is clear to see the reason for books that contain sexual content, but the Bible?

There is an opportunity for the book to get into impressionable hands. Then there are those that seek to promote the LGBT agenda. Many LGBT books are children’s books with sodomite and transgender themes, but the Bible?

According to Breitbart, the Bible is not only on the challenged book list; it has now made the top 10.

Breitbart reports:

The American Library Association (ALA) has The Holy Bible on its list of the top 10 most “challenged” books for the first time in 10 years.
The Bible was challenged for “religious viewpoints” primarily because of the “mistaken perception that separation of church and state means publicly funded institutions are not allowed to spend funds on religious information,” said Deborah Caldwell Stone, director of the ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom, according to National Public Radio.

But are we really surprised? People do not want their behavior challenged. They wish to live as they please and have no one tell them what they are doing is wrong.

We now live in a world where social norms and biblical ideas are being jettisoned for what feels right and personal wisdom. The Bible stands in stark contrast to this ideology. It condemns such thought and action.  It is these biblical challenges that people fear will be read and heard by the child.  They are afraid that God will save their children and they will in turn condemn their wicked behavior.

We have to understand that this situation will only get worse if God is not gracious to us and brings our society to repentance. We, like Sodom and Gomorrah, are doomed if we do not repent, and soon.
