Respect For Marriage Act Passes Senate – Now Moves To House Endangering The Church

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridge the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to freely assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances – The Constitution for the united States of America, Amendment One.

In one fell swoop, the Senate voted to infringe on the rights of the people to freely exercise their religious beliefs. The bill is referred to as “Respect for Marriage Act”. In fact, there were “sister bills” concerning the federal government forcing the States and the people to recognize homosexual marriage – HR 8404 and S 4556. From what readers at Sons of Liberty Media have learned, “sister bills” are evil twins ensuring the passage of legislation in both chambers. The House passed their bill and the Senate passed its version on Tuesday. The Senate bill now goes back to the House for it’s vote.

In summary, both these bills “repeal” the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996. These bills open the door, not only to “recognizing” homosexual marriage, but also to recognizing incestuous “marriages” as well as polygamous, pedophilic and underage marriage. What is disturbing in these bills is the “punitive” clause contained in Section 2, subparagraph 1738C, (c) and (d), which read the same in both HR 8404 and S 4556.

(c) Enforcement By Attorney General.—The Attorney General may bring a civil action in the appropriate district court of the United States against any person who violates subsection (b) for declaratory and injunctive relief.

(d) Private Right Of Action.—Any person who is harmed by a violation of subsection (b) may bring a civil action in the appropriate district court of the United States against the person who violated such subsection for declaratory and injunctive relief.”.

So, the Attorney General may bring a case against “any person” who violates this legislation should it be fully passed and signed into law; but the “harmed” individual may seek relief through civil action in the appropriate US district court. What does this mean for churches, church schools, religious organizations, etc.?

All amendments to the bill proposed by some members of the Senate to protect the First Amendment guarantee to the free exercise of religion and thereby act in accordance with religious beliefs were defeated.

Churches, religious organizations, non-profit organizations, church schools, etc. desiring to act in accordance with the belief that marriage is between one man and one woman would lose their “tax exemption” status with possible “license” loss and open these entities to discrimination lawsuits.

Further explanation is as follows:

Think about your local Catholic school or perhaps the faith-based adoption agency that works tirelessly to provide safe, lasting homes to children who have lost their parents. If the Respect for Marriage Act passes as it is currently written, then these cornerstones of your community will be subject to rigorous anti-discrimination lawsuits unless they comply with same-sex marriage.

While this bill does not provide any additional protections to those in same-sex unions, it does empower an ideologically motivated bureaucracy and activist regime with all the legal fodder necessary to attack people of faith. While Christians are used to the false claim that they are bigots, this bill would impact religious persons who hold to traditional marriage, including those of the Jewish or Muslim faiths, or Mormons of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

If these groups think that their places of worship and nonprofits will be exempt from anti-discrimination lawsuits and attacks on religious liberty, they are sorely mistaken. Unless they embrace the demands of same-sex marriage anti-discrimination requirements hook, line, and sinker, then they will be subject to the same concerns regarding tax exemption and licensure.

While religious liberty advocates have been ringing the alarm bells about the attack on religious freedom for decades, this bill comes the closest to destroying the religious freedom of millions of Americans and countless nonprofit organizations.

Many religious institutions will NOT be able to exist unless they violate God’s law on the nature of marriage. And, the services offered by many of these institutions will not be “allowed” to continue. Moreover, it attacks the traditional family.

The Constitution for the united States of America DOES not grant authority over “marriage” to the federal government in Article I, Section 8 nor does it grant authority to any other “branch” of government the authority over what God has established. The argument that “marriage” falls under the Fourteenth Amendment is false. The Fourteenth Amendment was ratified to address the recently freed slaves after the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment. The Supreme Court redefined “liberty” in the decision of Roe V. Wade to justify their personally held opinions and beliefs – not to uphold the law. And, the Supreme Court usurped its authority to hear cases that it is not constitutionally authorized to hear. More often than not, the Supreme Court fabricates “rights” they say exist in the Fourteenth Amendment to pretend the case arises under the Constitution, so it falls within their jurisdiction.

Church, while you were sleeping, hiding in the “barracks” of the places of worship, throwing off your armor of God, the enemy continued its maneuvering to the point that you are almost out-flanked. While you were clinging to your “cult of personality” idols, false teachers, and false prophets, the enemy used your own hypocrisy against you. As you tolerated crimes, corruption, and violations within the church, the enemy took notice to use it against you. While you sat in pews praying for God to stop all of this, you ignored His call to action – time and time again. You failed to put your feet to your prayers and stand for God.

Burying your head where the sun doesn’t shine is not going to change the fact that at some point, every church will face an assault from the rabid homosexual community. Can you really stand on your biblical beliefs against homosexuality and homosexual “marriage” when you tolerate sexual abuse, pedophilia, adultery, and other sins by clergy and members – conveniently turning a blind eye because of idolatry? Yes, sinners can be forgiven; but, there are still consequences for their actions. Afterall, God punished sexual sin or have you forgotten?

Churches, that have stated their beliefs in the marriage of one man and one woman in their statement of beliefs, will have to amend that or suffer discrimination lawsuits and vicious attacks from the homosexual community pushing their agenda.

Thinking this bill will never pass the next hurdle is a fool’s thought. While many were busy saying “we can’t be political” or “things are too political to discuss because it will alienate members”, you ignored the reality that politics is just your religion externalized. That being the case, what “religion” is Congress and the federal government now exhibiting? Those entities have always thought “religion” was within their sphere, while deluding you to think that politics had to be out of yours. Congratulations! You fell for the propaganda and served your beliefs and God’s law up on a silver platter for the enemy to devour.
