Senator Lindsey Graham Unleashes Firestorm At Democrat Senators For “Most Unethical Sham” Since He’s Been In Politics

I’m not a fan of Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and he’s my senator, but I have to tell you that he was right on point on Thursday when he berated Senate Democrats in their relentless assault on Judge Brett Kavanaugh while at the same time believing every word of Dr. Christine Ford without any evidence. In fact, all of the evidence and all of the witnesses to date, including Dr. Ford’s friend, whom she claims was in the same house that the attack occurred refute her claims. When Graham had his time to speak, he said what many of us thought should have been said.

After Kavanaugh unleashed his own refutation of the charges and blasted Democrats for their attacks on him, near the closing of the hearing, Graham finally said what everyone had been waiting on and said it with passion.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020,” Graham blasted Democrat Senators on the committee.

Graham continued, “Would you say you’ve been through hell?”

Kavanaugh responded, “I’ve been through hell and then some.”

“I cannot imagine what you and your family have gone through,” Graham said.  “I hope the American people can see through this sham.”

“To my Republican colleagues, if you vote ‘no’, you’re legitimizing the most despicable thing that I have seen in my time in politics,” Graham added.

Now, I’m not in agreement with that last part.  Just because someone doesn’t confirm Judge Kavanaugh does not mean they are legitimizing what Democrats have done to him.  In fact, I have said before, I would not vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh based on constitutional principles and I would have questioned him over those things.  Yet, I would have stood by him being innocent until proven guilty and have written that this attack on him has been libelous and slanderous by both the press and Democrats, and he really should sue the pants off of every one he can file suit against, but he won’t.

However, that last line of Graham’s is what this is all about, to have people forget some of the unconstitutional positions that Judge Kavanaugh holds, like his attacks on the Fourth Amendment.

Graham voiced his support of Kavanaugh saying that the Supreme Court is “exactly where you should be.”

Graham also voiced support for Dr. Christine Ford.

“I’m not going to reward people for playing a political game, I think, with her life,” Graham said. “She is just as much a victim of this as I think Brett Kavanaugh. Because somebody betrayed her trust, and we know who she gave the letter to.”

Maybe they did and maybe they didn’t.  She said she never gave permission to make her latter public, but we know her political activism and we know she waited 36 years to make her claims known, and yet, in all of that, her testimony seemed less than credible.

“All I can say is that we’re 40-something days away from the election.” Graham said. “And their goal, not Ms. Ford’s goal, is to delay this past the midterms so they can win the Senate and never allow Trump to fill the seat.”

I’m not so sure about that either.  While I understand why Judge Kavanaugh held back on not saying that Ford was a part of the political hit on him, there is evidence that she was part of it.

Graham also rightly pointed out that the Democrats mantra of having another FBI investigation into Kavanaugh would render nothing.

“The FBI is going to tell us what?” Graham said. “What house are they going to go to? What city are they going to go to? Who are they going to talk to? Because they tell us the month, barely the year, so this is all delay?”

No doubt, this is all it is. It is political theater.

Graham became a spark for other Republican senators to come to Kavanaugh’s aid as well.

The vote is scheduled to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court on Friday at 1:30pm.
