Sheriff Deputies Claim They Were Taunted and Served Tampered Food at NC Zaxby’s

It is not hard to imagine that people would take their frustration out on others.  We have done this in the past.  We know we have projected our rage and frustration on the closest representative of that rage.  But have you ever verbally attacked sheriff deputies?

This happened at a Shelby, NC, Zaxby’s.

Fox 8 reports:

Two North Carolina deputies who went to Zaxby’s for lunch Sunday say they were taunted by employees in the kitchen, WSOC reports.

In addition, they said their food was coated in a sauce so spicy they couldn’t eat it.

This incident has brought out the anger of the community.  A community that is usually quiet and laid back.  Most of Cleveland County has the luxury of ignoring the events of the outside world.  The residences are well acquainted with and respect the County Sheriff’s office.

There have been many promising not to return to the popular restaurant until the problem is adequately addressed.  Most want to see the offenders lose their jobs.  And though there is finally a response, the owner seems reluctant to state what he plans to do about the incident.

WSOC reports:

The owner of a Shelby Zaxby’s is speaking out after complaints his employees mistreated two local deputies.

He wants to meet one-on-one with the sheriff about what happened as upset customers said they won’t return to the restaurant on East Dixon Boulevard until the incident is addressed.

The owner of the franchise said it took a long time to build a good relationship with the community and he wants to keep that good reputation, both with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office and with the people in the community.

“Me, my team, my family, all take this incident extremely seriously,” franchise owner Neil Glezen said.

If he does not act in a serious manner to punish those involved, he might want to be serious about finding a more friendly location for his restaurant.
