State Constitutional Referendums Might Be The Quickest Way To Justice!

It has become obvious in the moral decay of today that there is little or uneven no justice placed on “public officials.”  When a police officer gets only 14 days for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Hawaii (and will not have to register as a sex offender)! This injustice and the multitude of others, cannot be allowed to continue!

High crimes and misdemeanors as understood during this country’s founding (historical reference is in the US Constitution The phrase “high crimes and misdemeanors” appears in Article II section 4 of the U.S. Constitution) were offenses by officials were considered a more severe crime or a “high crime”,  since more is expected of officials by their oaths of office and their position representing THE PEOPLE!

Police killings and abuses have been highlighted lately, with part of the problem being “qualified immunity” [in the writer’s opinion]. It is no secret that certain mentalities gravitate to positions of power; and society should not make it easy to abuse that power; and should consider the abuses a “high crime” with HIGHER PENALTIES, NOT LESS!

If WE THE PEOPLE, cannot trust prosecutors and judges to make proper rulings in these cases; a jury should decide not only the punishment but also if an action should be afforded “qualified immunity”! SOLUTIONS: Most States allow a Constitutional Referendum to be placed on the public voting ballot. It seems to this author, that if the legislatures will not make the proper laws; that THE PEOPLE must amend THEIR CONSTITUTIONS!

Besides an amendment forcing courts to accept the sentencing of the “official”  by a jury,  I have some additional ideas that the people might also consider.

Trending: People Have Had Enough & The Rebellion Against Tyrants Is Rising

1.    Many States made a habit of locking down businesses and still demanding the same property taxes! A Constitutional Amendment could say that if a business is forced to a certain percentage of capacity or to close, that their property tax would be that same percentage or even less ( ½ that number since less profitable) for that period of time!

2.    People should consider the abuses of many state governments like New Jersey and Illinois (2 of the highest property taxes) to milk the people, with property taxes. An amendment could make the maximum i.e. 1% of the value, instead of amounts that seem like we are renting our own properties!  Governments must learn to make-due and stop paying officials more than private-sector earners! Some countries have even outlawed Unions, of Government Workers…not a bad idea!

3.    Sheriffs and Courts must allow the public to access the Grand Juries! To suggest the jury investigates on its own and/or brings charges against officials; the prosecutor maybe protecting!

4.    Also could clarify Gun Rights, Free Speech, No Tax on Food (weather grocery or restaurant, it is a necessity), No Tax on communication phones, internet,  etc. since it has to do with Free Speech and Association, disallow government-owned or participated in toll roads or bridges (the freedom to travel has become an issue with them).  Maximum amount of Income Tax (as Illinois is trying to change in this coming election), Sales Tax or Excise Tax rates. Maximum Fuel excise taxes etc.

Be creative it is time for THE PEOPLE to say NO MORE!
