Survey: “Alarmingly High” Rates Of Depression & Anxiety Among LGBTQ Southerners

A newly released survey is just pointing out what the Bible makes very clear and that is that our Creator turns over a people to a reprobate mind who fail to honor Him as God and they defile not only their minds by their bodies in doing so (Romans 1:18ff).  The latest evidence of how the mind is affected by those who engage in sodomy, lesbianism and can’t properly distinguish their gender based on the fact that they have a reprobate mind, is demonstrated in a new suvey of LGBTQ Southerners from the Campaign for Southern Equality.

The report which was produced by the Campaign for Southern Equality in partnership with Western NC Community Health Services as part of a Southern LGBTQ Health Initiative is hardly a right-wing report.

Yet, it discovered what has been documented for years among those who are in rebellion against nature, the created order and their own Creator.

Depression and anxiety rates are “alarmingly high” among LGBTQ Southerners, according to the survey.

The organization asked 5,617 adults questions about their mental and physical health. Those responding live in 13 states from West Virginia to Texas.

Half of those questioned said they believe “being in the South makes it always or often harder to access quality medical care for LGBTQ individuals.”

Although, there was no reason for the belief given.

Additionally, people living in rural areas reported lower physical and mental health ratings than urban residents.

According to the survey, most respondents reported being “good” or “excellent” when it came to physical health.

“This stratification of experience suggests that LGBTQ-friendly health care exists in the South but is not universally available,” the study says.

However, when it came to mental health, more than half of transgender Southerners reported having suicidal thoughts.

The overall rate was just 26 percent.

The survey says the rates of depression and anxiety are “disproportionately high when compared to the general population” as 54 percent of people reported having depression and 46 percent reported having anxiety.

About 7 percent of adults in the US had a ”major depressive episode” within the past year, according to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Abuse and Health.

Here is the bottom line:  Our Creator has warned us of engaging in crimes against nature by engaging the same sex in deviant sexual behavior.  In fact, nearly two thousand years ago, the apostle Paul wrote these words:

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; -Romans 1:18-28 (emphasis mine)

Notice that phrase, “receiving in themselves that recompanece of their error which was meet.”

In other words, there are natural consequences of engaging in this behavior:  mental illness and phsyical ailments.  Is this what we see?  Yes, it is.  And people think the Bible is outdated.

For instance, we reported on Wednesday that due to a shift in sexual behavior men and women have been using the anus as a sexual organ when it is part of the excretory system, and as a result, it has given “dramatic rise” to anal cancer in the US.

Michael Snyder writes:

Anal cancer certainly isn’t as prominent as breast cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer, but this new study that just came out found that the number of cases has “increased dramatically over the last 15 years”

Rates of new anal cancer diagnoses and deaths related to human papillomavirus (HPV), the most common sexually transmitted infection, have increased dramatically over the last 15 years, according to researchers at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). The results of their study were published in the November issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

And according to CNN, the increase has been particularly dramatic among a couple of key demographic groups…

“Our findings of the dramatic rise in incidence among black millennials and white women, rising rates of distant-stage disease, and increases in anal cancer mortality rates are very concerning,” the study’s lead author, Ashish A. Deshmukh, an assistant professor at UTHealth School of Public Health, said in a statement. “Given the historical perception that anal cancer is rare, it is often neglected.”

So why is this happening?

There are certainly a lot of reasons, but the study did specifically identify a major change in sexual behavior as one of the key driving factors.  The following comes from CNN

Since the 1950s, there have been substantial changes in risk factors for anal cancer, including shifts in sexual behaviors and an increased number of sexual partners, according to the study, both of which increase the likelihood of contracting HPV.

According to the study, the vast majority of anal cancer cases are caused by the HPV virus.  In fact, it actually tops the list of the National Cancer Institute’s list of risk factors

  • Being infected with human papillomavirus (HPV).
  • Having many sexual partners.
  • Having receptive anal intercourse (anal sex).
  • Being older than 50 years.
  • Frequent anal redness, swelling, and soreness.
  • Having anal fistulas (abnormal openings).
  • Smoking cigarettes.

The good news is that you can dramatically reduce your chance of getting the disease by avoiding high risk behaviors.

Today, it is way too easy to catch the HPV virus.  According to the New York Post, approximately 79 million Americans are currently infected…

HPV is the most common sexually transmitted disease, infecting some 79 million Americans. In its benign form, it goes undetected, often subdued by our body’s immune system. In some cases, though, it produces warts. And, if left untreated, more extreme strains of the virus could cause cancer.

That means that nearly one out of every four Americans has the virus.

One thing is for sure:  Abstinence works one hundred percent of the time it’s tried in providing security and safety, reducing depression and suicidal thoughts and 100% effectiveness against getting sexually transmitted diseases or an unwanted pregnancy, but people must be confronted with a moral absolute.  Sadly, in our culture today, the people they cry for tolerance and love show forth neither tolerance nor love to warn those engaging in promiscuous and criminal behavior with their bodies.  It’s time we start doing it again, just like our founding fathers did.
