The Susan Rice “UnMasking” Scandal Can Only Be Solved By Trump

This past week we learned that the National Security Counsel (NSC) was unable to hand over the documents that would show who was wrongfully “unmasked” by Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice. The NSC had been hemming and hawing for months about handing the documents over to Judicial Watch (or to Congressional investigators), and earlier this week they finally revealed that they couldn’t hand the papers over because they had already sent them to the Obama Presidential Library.

The NSC informed Judicial Watch in a letter dated May 23 that materials related to Rice’s requests to know the identities of Americans swept up in surveillance of foreign targets, including any Trump campaign or transition officials, have been moved to the library.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The NSC’s Director of Access Management John Powers said in the letter:

Documents from the Obama administration have been transferred to the Barack Obama Presidential Library. You may send your request to the Obama Library.           However, you should be aware that under the Presidential Records Act, Presidential records remain closed to the public for five years after an administration has left office.

The fact that Judicial Watch had asked for the documents weeks ago and that the NSC had dragged their feet on responding to the request raises a lot of question about whether or not the NSC wrongfully handled the documents (by sending them off to the Obama Library AFTER receiving the Judicial Watch request).

However, while Judicial Watch may not be able to get the documents for another five years, there is someone who can get them much sooner.

President Donald Trump.

President Trump could get the documents from the Obama presidential library immediately if he so desired. Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton explains:

“There are ways around that restricted access and one of them is if the President needs them, he can have them. So, the question now for the White House is whether they’re going to get records like these back.”

Now the question is… will President Trump tell the library to hand the documents over to investigators, or will we have to wait another 5 years before we learn just how criminal Susan Rice’s behavior was?
