Ted Cruz Blasts Jeb Bush & Media – Drops Hammer on Illegal Immigration

Senator Ted Cruz had a pretty good night on Tuesday he had some strong responses during several key moments in the debate; he offered a strong defense of his excellent tax plan, he carved a middle-ground on foreign policy between Marco Rubio and Rand Paul, and he absolutely hammered Jeb Bush on illegal immigration and amnesty.

That one moment on illegal immigration may have actually won him the nomination, if as some pundits think Cruz will likely gain most of Donald Trump‘s supporters when he inevitably does drop out of the race. Here’s what Cruz said in response to Jeb Bush’s rambling, mostly incoherent and definitely naïve comments on illegal immigration and amnesty.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“When the mainstream media covers illegal immigration they do not see it as an economic issue, but I can tell that for millions of Americans at home watching this it is a very personal economic issue.

I will say, the politics of it would be very, very different if a bunch of lawyers or bankers were crossing the Rio Grande. Or if a bunch of people with journalism degrees were coming over and driving down the wages in the press, then we would see stories about the economic calamity that is befalling our nation.

I will say for those of us who believe people ought to come to this country legally and we should enforce the law, we’re tired of being told, it’s anti-immigrant. It’s offensive. I am the son of an immigrant who came legally from Cuba to seek the American dream and we can embrace legal immigrations while believing in the rule of law and I would note, try going illegally to another country. Try going to China or Japan. Try going into Mexico. See what they do. Every sovereign nation secures its borders. It is not compassionate to say we’re not going to enforce the laws, and we’re going to drive down the wages for millions of hardworking men and women. That is abandoning the working man.”

BURN.

Well done, Senator Cruz. On another note, is there anyone out there who still thinks that Jeb Bush has any hope of winning the nomination?
