A 17-year-old Washington state female pulled her gun on a fugitive that was hiding out in her home, something that would have left many scared to death.

Kimber Wood’s boyfriend was watching a morning show when the local news reported that Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies had made a traffic stop and the driver of the car ran away.  Wood’s boyfriend immediately called her to warn her that the man might be in her neighborhood.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“You heart feels like it is going out of its chest,” Wood said. “I couldn’t breath well but I knew I had to.”

“I was laying in bed watching TV and my boyfriend called my parents,” she added.  “They warned me.”

Around 5 am on Monday morning, Kimber was asleep when her boyfriend and parents called her to warn her about the wanted man.  She put her father’s gun under her pillow and went back to sleep.

She was then awakened by a noise in the house. She then grabbed the gun and got behind the vanity in her bedroom.  The wanted man then entered her bedroom just moments later.

She came face to face with the man whom the deputies were searching for.  She demanded to know who he was and told him to “get the (expletive)” out of her house.

The man then became frightened, according to Kimber and turned and fled outside.  She chased him outside and fired a single shot to scare the man, but not hit him.

The man stole an ATV from the family and fled on it.

When deputies arrived at her house, she positively Identified the man as the one who broke into her home.

Kimber’s father praised her skills with a gun.

“Lessons we went over and over, and you think they’ll never have to use them, and today proved that they did, and it worked,” he said.

Deputies even spoke highly of the teen, saying they were proud of what she did.

As of Monday afternoon, police were still searching for the fugitive.
