Texas Legislators to Decide If Homosexual Marriage Is More Important Than Religious Freedom!

In 2015, the Texas legislature passed the “Pastor Protection” bill, due in large part to the spate of anti-Christian lawsuits around the country.

Much of the legal response in the wake of the Supreme Court’s sodomite marriage opinion focused on punishing Christian citizens for their belief that sodomite marriage is immoral and antithetical to their faith. States lined up to sue florists, photographers, bakers, wedding planners, event hosts, and other wedding industry professionals for refusing to participate in homosexual wedding ceremonies.

In an effort to keep this kind of thing from happening in Texas, legislators passed the bill to help ensure that Christian Texans could safely express their religious beliefs without fear of reprisal.

Now, those legislators are debating expanding the law to protect more citizens from similar attacks.

“These issues are about whether or not someone who has a sincerely held religious belief can be forced by the government to participate in a ceremony or to use their artistic talents for a type of event that they disagree with,” Texas Values President Jonathan Saenz said.

Saenz used the example of Sweet Cakes by Melissa (owned by Melissa and Aaron Klein), a bakery in Oregon that was ruined by the state for refusing to participate in a homosexual wedding. “These things that you hear about the cake makers and the florist and the photographers, those are not just a simple court case. It’s almost always a law that exists at the local or state level in that part of the country that is being used to punish people of faith.”

Some on the Texas business community simply do not care if Christians are discriminated against, as long as the fascist homosexual marriage lobby isn’t offended by Texas’s laws. For example, Bill Hammond, the President and CEO of the Texas Association of Business, warned that if Texas chose to protect Christians, it could hurt business interests in the state. “We know that there would be a high probability that events like the Super Bowl or the NCAA Final Four would be moved from Texas if this were to become law.”

What is sad is that Texas is not debating obeying the Supreme Court’s decision; they are simply talking about protecting the religious freedom of dissenting Christians in their state.

This alone is enough to anger liberals and their gay fascist allies.

Apparently, in the eyes of liberals, not all people are made equal because it is completely acceptable to trample on the Constitutional rights of Christian. The entire debate proves the lie that liberals are for the rights of the individual.

The truth is that liberals are only for the rights of individuals who agree with them…
