The Day I Learned My Fathers Heart (Part 2), God Gave His Law Because He Loves!

“Love is the interpreter of the law!”

There is a true story told out on the west coast of a winding road that goes up and around the side of a mountain where they noticed cars would end up going over the side, only to crash at the bottom to their own destruction. All the warning signs (Exodus 20) had been removed and instead of replacing the warning signs (Exodus 19:11) to preserve life, a lovingly and concerned committee decided to resolve the problem by putting an ambulance at the bottom of the cliff.  Is it love to remove the warning signs? That must be a new version love and one that is in stark contrast to the Spirit of God (Leviticus 19:17).

During my presentation across the country, I ask if it is loving to warn them (Ezekiel 33:3) before going over the cliff or is it loving to stand back and ignore the inevitable destruction of the driver by failing to warn them?  Without fail,  the people affirm that it is loving to stand-up and warn them before they destroy themselves. Common sense comes into play here. Prevention is better than cure.

This is what the people in this country have taken on today.

Hate does not tell the truth.  Love does that. Love warns because it loves (2 Corinthians 5:10-11). Yet, people are rejecting love as if to suggest that it is hate to tell them so (Psalm 109:5; John 7:7; John 15:18-19).

How is it that there are so many that separate the moral law from love? Try this with natural law by removing the stop signs, warning signs, stop lights etc.. Is that love?

Taking it a step further in natural law (1 Corinthians 2:14), a magistrate loves his God and his country by enforcing His law (Psalm 40:8; Isaiah 42:21, 51:4; Hebrews 10:16) unto Judgment (Psalm 94:15).  Why?  So that he might bring about repentance to those who transgress that law (1 John 3:4), which is His is mercy, because he loves his brothers and as well, he loves his freedoms (2 Corinthians 3:17), which were given through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

If one understands that it is, in fact, their sins that put Christ on the cross and that He died as the propitiation for their sins to redeem that back unto himself through His blood (Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:22), they have the opportunity to repent (John 16:8, 2 Corinthians 7:10).

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.” -Romans 3:31

Again, the Lord gave His law, which Christ did not come to abrogate (Matthew 5:17-18), because He loves.  After all, love is the fulfilling of the law (Romans 13:8-9).

Let’s look to the Word.

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” -Romans 13:8-10

The only way that you can truly love man is when you first love God!

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” -Mark 12:30-31

“By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.” -1 John 5:2

And where did that love come from?

“… because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” -Romans 5:5

Somehow or another, the American Church has convinced the people that to obey the law of the Lord, because you Love Him (Luke 7:36-50, John 14:21) for His Son’s sacrifice on Calvary (John 3:16). is somehow “legalistic.”  No such thing here, my friends.

I ask you, is it hate for my country to obey natural law or is it love for my country?  This is heresy, as well as lunacy and it is unscriptural.  In the end, it produces lawlessness.  Yet, this is what is prevalent in America today (Matthew 24:12).

Though we are saved by grace through faith and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8), the law is to be used in the hand of Christ by the Holy Ghost to drive men to the foot of the cross (Galatians 3:24).

The Law detects, grace conquers (Romans 5:20). The law condemns, grace justifies, if I believe.

Let’s watch The master in action…

“And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?  And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.” Mark 10:17-21
