The Time To “Get Prepared” Is Almost Over

Written by:

What I am going to share with you in this article is extraordinarily alarming, but I want my readers to clearly understand what time it is.  It is human nature to procrastinate, and when we aren’t faced with a fixed deadline there is a tendency to assume that there is always “more time” to get something done.  Over the years, I have begged and pleaded with my readers to get prepared, and some took that advice but many others didn’t.  Now I am getting emails from readers that are deeply alarmed by all of the craziness that is erupting all around us, and all of a sudden they want to play catch up.  I am glad that they are starting to wake up, but there is only so much that can be done in a limited amount of time, and in this environment it has become much more difficult to get your hands on certain things.

Let me give you an example.  At one time, buckets of emergency food were widely available and lots of sources were selling them.  Unfortunately, today they are in such demand that it is often difficult to find them.  In fact, if you go to the Augason Farms online store right now you will see this notice at the top of the page…

Due to an extremely high order volume through all sales channels we are currently not able to receive any orders through our web site. All orders previously placed will still be shipped.

Augason Farms Products are still available through other national sales channels both on line and in-store and also through other reputable on-line vendors. We expect to turn this site back on just as soon as possible.

Sadly, it appears that the online store will not be returning for an extended period of time, because Augason Farms has announced that it will be ending operations for 90 days…

Storable food mega-supplier Augason Farms has ceased operations for 90 days, citing, “global raw-material shortages” and “substantial delays” in procurement and production.

Augason Farms would certainly like to make food buckets for all of us, and vast hordes of people would certainly like to buy them, but the raw materials just aren’t available.

The company sent out a letter to distributors and retailers informing them of Augason’s decision to suspend business

“Regrettably, BCG [the parent company owner of Augason Farms] cannot fulfill your orders on time; therefore, this letter communicates our decision to suspend business for the next 90 days, effective immediately,” says an October 7th, 2021 letter issued by Mark Augason, President of Augason Farms, to Augason Farms distributors and retailers (see letter below).

“During these 90 days, we will secure and stockpile raw materials and take measures to accelerate our round-the-clock production output,” the letter continues. “We are confident that this reset period will help us better serve you with on-time, complete shipments in the future,” the letter adds.

You can see the letter for yourself right here.

There are still some Augason products available at various online retailers, but they will disappear soon.

And once they are gone, they may not be available for a long time.

Meanwhile, other shortages continue to become more severe all across the country.  Over the weekend, the Daily Mail posted an article about the intense shortages that pharmacies in New York City are experiencing…

Shelves in pharmacies across New York City have been left nearly barren because supplies are not getting through amid an ongoing global squeeze.

Stores such as CVS, Walgreens and Duane Reade are all running very low on goods.

Yes, things really are this bad.

That same article pinned the blame for these shortages on U.S. supply chain problems

Supplies are being held up on cargo ships that are taking up to four weeks to dock at US ports.

A lack of manpower to unload them and to drive goods around the US is causing a giant backlog.

But this isn’t just happening in the United States.

All over the globe, shortages are rapidly growing, and it is being projected that they will get even worse in the months ahead.  One really good article that I came across used the phrase “hydra of bottlenecks” to describe what we are facing…

The Everything Shortage is not the result of one big bottleneck in, say, Vietnamese factories or the American trucking industry. We are running low on supplies of all kinds due to a veritable hydra of bottlenecks.

If the current state of affairs was not bad enough, now a major energy crisis is starting to having a dramatic impact on factory production all over the planet…

Factories in China and Europe have temporarily shuttered or at least reduced output because of the energy crisis. More than 60 companies in China have suffered power-related disruptions so far, and the list is likely to grow, says Jena Santoro of Everstream Analytics.

The biggest impact will be felt by consumers in the form of higher prices as inflated energy prices will cascade into increased manufacturing costs, said Dawn Tiura, president of the Sourcing Industry Group.

Perhaps you are seeing all of this happen and you have decided that you had better stockpile the things that you are going to need for the times that are coming.

That is a good decision, but it won’t be easy.

Right now, there are certain things that you won’t be able to get, and you are just going to have to accept that reality.

In other cases, certain products may be available but supplies are limited.

Of course everything is more expensive than it used to be, and prices will continue to rise with each passing week.

For a long time, so many people mocked those that were putting so much time and energy into prepping.

But now the tables have turned, and the preppers are being vindicated.

I hope that a lot of you are starting to understand why I worked so hard to try to get people to prepare ahead of time over the years.

The times that we are moving into are going to be beyond challenging, and I want my readers to be mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially prepared as much as possible.

Unfortunately, there is not much time left to prepare, and so much suffering is on the horizon.
