Treasonous Supreme Court Injustice Elena Kagan Claims SCOTUS Must Follow “Public Sentiment” – Not The Law

Elena Kagan never judged a day in her life prior to her appointment by the usurper of the White House Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah. She was instrumental in ruling in favor of sodomite and lesbian “marriages,” which is really why she was appointed. There was no law, no history and certainly no right to do so. Now, she is on record as stating that “public sentiment,” not the law, is what the court must look to in their rulings.

The Hill reports:

Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan said on Thursday at a conference that the legitimacy of the Supreme Court is tied to its conformity to public opinion, Reuters first reported.

“I’m not talking about any particular decision or even any particular series of decisions, but if over time the court loses all connection with the public and with public sentiment, that’s a dangerous thing for a democracy,” Kagan said at a judicial conference in Montana.

Kagan, a liberal appointed to the Supreme Court by former President Obama, dissented in the court’s momentous decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe v. Wade and sent the authority on abortion back to the states.

The recent Supreme Court term included many contentious decisions, including cases about gun rights and the Environmental Protection Agency, and Kagan was often on the dissenting side.

Kagan said at the conference that the court earns its legitimacy by remaining impartial and nonpartisan.

“Overall, the way the court retains its legitimacy and fosters public confidence is by acting like a court, is by doing the kinds of things that do not seem to people political or partisan,” she said.

Kagan referenced times in history when Supreme Court justices failed to discipline themselves and instead “attempted to basically enact their own policy or political or social preferences,” saying that this puts court legitimacy at risk.

Public sentiment has nothing to do with upholding the Constitution, which she swore an oath to do, regardless of public sentiment. Kagan has the mindset that the ends justify the means. It doesn’t.

Of course, when that hit social media, many called out her lawlessness.

One person on Twitter commented, “As long as they do their jobs and determine what is or is not Constitutional, public sentiment is not relevant.”

That’s right, it isn’t.

Another responded, “The Court isn’t a legislature. Public opinion has literally zero to do with its function or legitimacy.”

Others added:

Kagan, and several other justices, should be impeached and prosecuted for their crimes against the people by legislating from the bench and by not having good behavior by rightly interpreting the law and applying it (Article II, Section IV; Article I, Section 3, Clause 7 US Constitution).

Or maybe, just maybe, there should be a punishment for people like Kagan that would equate to that of Sisamnes.
