Trump to Encourage Foreign Governments to Investigate Clinton Foundation

A source close to President-elect Donald Trump‘s transition team revealed that the administration will be encouraging foreign governments to investigate the Clinton Foundation’s financial dealings.

While Trump’s spokesperson said that he would not be pursuing charges against Hillary Clinton in an interview last week, he didn’t say anything about investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

The New York Post reports:

“Haiti and Colombia will be key diplomatic posts for this because of all the money involved,” said the source.

In Haiti, recently leaked e-mails indicate “Friends of Bill” Clinton may have been given priority from the State Department as it prepared to spend some
$10 billion in aid after a devastating earthquake hit the country in 2010. The State Department has denied any special treatment.

In Colombia, Canadian mining magnate Frank Giustra pledged $100 million to the foundation in 2005 and later benefited from the foundation’s philanthropic work in the country, where he acquired large parcels of land and set up an oil business, according to watchdog groups.

The Clinton Foundation, headed by Donna Shalala, the former health and human services secretary in the Clinton administration, has received millions from dozens of foreign governments including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Canada, Sweden and Ireland.

The Australian government had confirmed Friday it is not renewing its several partnerships with the Clinton Foundation. Additionally, the Norwegian government also declared that it had cut contributions to the Clinton Foundation by 90 percent following Clinton’s presidential defeat.

The Clinton Foundation recorded a 37% drop in donations in 2015.

The Post also reported that following the election, French federal comptrollers who began following a money trail of tens of millions of dollars that wound up in the Clinton Foundation.

Furthermore, the Foundation has received millions of dollars from other foreign governments, including the following:

  • Saudi Arabia
  • Kuwait
  • Netherlands
  • Canada
  • Sweden
  • Ireland

Mrs. Clinton left the Clinton Foundation in April 2015 when she began her presidential bid, but don’t think for a minute that she left the money. There has been no word as to whether or not she will return, but my guess is that she will.

The question now is if Trump actually will encourage these governments to submit their findings to his administration and whether or not he will actually do what he promised to do and that is have his Attorney General appoint a special investigator for Hillary Clinton. After all, when you get down to the job of the President, the one thing we know his duty is to take care that the laws be faithfully executed (Article II, Section 3 of the US Constitution).

Trump’s former advisor Roger Stone has said that Trump must bring Hillary Clinton to justice if he is going to be the president the American people elected him to be because her crimes dwarfed those of Richard Nixon in the Watergate scandal.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing the entire Clinton family brought to justice and then eliminating the Clinton Foundation from the face of the earth, never to be seen or heard from again. Why can’t we have both?

America, now waits to see if Trump will be true to his word and follow through on his campaign promise.
