Most Christians are aware of the large number of unborn children murdered in the womb through abortion. But, there is a silent and growing number of babies murdered unannounced each day. They are silent because there is no way to know how many of these children are lost. A pill murders them. The pill well known as the morning after pill. One pharmacist decided that it violated his conscience and Christian faith to provide such a pill to his customers.
Christian News reports:
A federal appeals court has ruled that a pharmacy in Washington state must stock the morning after-pill despite the owner’s beliefs that the item is an abortifacient and thus contrary to his religious beliefs.
Unlike the cases where cakes and sodomites were involved, there was barely any fanfare. The pharmacist had not refused anyone anything. There was just a quiet decision to not provide a drug that he believed was killing someone.
Christian News continues:
Ralph’s Thriftway owner, Kevin Stormans, received a call inquiring whether the location sold the morning-after pill. After replying that the pharmacy did not carry it, he began to receive anonymous complaints via phone and email. Ralph’s Thriftway was soon also picketed and complaints were filed with the Washington Board of Pharmacy, who launched an investigation.
The following year, the state passed regulations requiring that pharmacies stock and dispense the morning-after pill, and ADF filed suit on behalf of Stormans and two of his pharmacists, Rhonda Mesler and Margo Thelen, who objected to the requirement because of their Christian faith.
This smells of a fishing expedition by some feminist rights group. They called and singled out the pharmacists that did not provide the drug. Then they sent in the shock troops. But Stormans was not going to simply take this lying down. They fought back and sought to uphold their rights. And the pharmacist seemed to be successful.
Christian News reported:
Later that year, a federal court ruled in favor of Ralph’s Thriftway, stating that the new regulations “appear to intentionally place a significant burden on the free exercise of religion for those who believe life begins at conception.”
But the matter soon moved to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the regulations were placed on hold while the matter proceeded in court. On Thursday, the court unanimously ruled that Ralph’s Thriftway must stock Plan B despite his religious objections.
Once again, the rights of the law-breaker have been placed over the rights of the law-abiding. It is more important that these murdering mothers have every opportunity to kill their child successfully, regardless of others beliefs. This is caused by our lack of respect for the Law of God today. If the Church saw the Law as useful, we would not be in this position. I discuss this in my book: An Everlasting Covenant.  Get it at Amazon.
The Court said:
“Additionally, testimony at trial demonstrated how facilitated referrals could lead to feelings of shame in the patient that could dissuade her from obtaining emergency contraception altogether,” Graber stated. “In our view, the commission’s decision not to allow facilitated referrals falls within its stated goal of ensuring timely and safe delivery of prescription medications and, accordingly, does not demonstrate discriminatory intent.”
This is what we have when unbelievers make and determine for us our laws. They can justify anything in the name of conformity. You must never make the sinner feel bad about his sin, so you must set aside your conscience that the murderer would not feel ashamed. This ruling shows we have lost all understanding of law in this culture.
