Where to Go In the Bad Economy and How to Get There

Many people say: “I do not need to know where to go, I am staying here.”  Well “here” may not be a location.  “Here” can be a situation, a situation such as living in a country with a bad economy or a bad government.

Watch the movie: “Defiance” which was based on the 1993 Nechama Tec’s book “Defiance: The Bielski Partisans.”  These people decided to say “No, thank you!” to Hitler and his followers’ death camps.  Yes, they had to back up their “No, thank you!” with guns and the killing of evil people, but that is why we need to say “No, thank you!” now while we still can do it peacefully.  Why wait until it becomes hard and dangerous to do so?

This is why my articles seem like they deviate from the titled subject when they are actually different steps to get to an understanding of the problem.  Many people do not know how bad the problems are we face.  However, not understanding the how and why can lead people to make the problem worse instead of a solution.  I am trying to simplify the complex so people can understand they have been misled about many things.  They need to understand where they actually are before they can know where they should go.  That can be economically or many other things.

As I mentioned in other articles, “We need to have our foundation for thought.”  The Bielski brothers’ foundation for thought was that they were not going to be defenseless victims.  The Bielski brothers’ first problem was not knowing they had a problem until it became a deadly problem.  People argued with them that not being a victim was the problem.  Those people were wrong.  Many of those people ended up dead for being wrong.  The Bielski brothers’ survival, and those that survived with them, resulted from them not following the wrong people and not obeying the wrong people.

So, the first thing to do to not be one of the people who get hurt is to start knowing we have a problem, and then stop following the wrong people and stop obeying the wrong people.

I realize this can be difficult because we have been taught most of our lives to think a certain way.  For example, “America is the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Look at the last three years and ask yourself, is this really true?  How brave are we?  The government wants gun control and endless other controls on the people of this country.  They act like they are afraid of the people.  Sure, they claim it is only some of the people, but they are trying to get control of all of the people.

The one thing most of the population agrees on is to be afraid.  Most of the population has been living in a constant state of fear for most of their lives.  Fear of climate change, fear of the climate hoax, either one requires fear.  The same thing was true with COVID.  Some were afraid of COVID.  Others were afraid of the government’s reaction to COVID.  It did not matter which one, the people pushing fear just wanted you to be afraid.  Why help them by being afraid?  Did people’s fear improve their situation? Emotions are a choice.  Emotions are also like muscles.  We need to strengthen them.  I realize most people just want to be told what to do.  Things like being told to go and buy food or anything that they think will save them.  I do not disagree that preparing is important.  However, having control of your emotions is the most important preparation you can make.

That was the purpose of basic training in the military.  They were training our minds and emotions so we would not panic under stress.  The purpose of the prisoner of war training camp in the military was to prepare our minds and emotions.  Repeated skills training in paramedic school was to give us muscle memory so we could do the skill we needed to do under stress.

Ask yourself about the last few years, “Did my fear help?”  If it did not help, do not beat yourself up.  Rather, realize you may have learned what not to do.  Make a conscious decision to not be led around by fear.  Get accurate information.  That includes not believing that the people who want to harm you are more powerful than how they present themselves.  All this “They are going to do this they are going to do that” is not helpful.  It can be self defeating.  Do not defeat yourself.  When I asked, “Why help them by being afraid?” We should continue asking, “Did being afraid help?”  If not, we better learn to control our emotions for whatever is coming next.

I believe the economy is going to get much worse than it is currently.  I also believe people’s fear is going to make it worse than it needs to be.  The Bielski brothers survived by controlling their fear when it was the most important.  We need to learn from what others have done.  One of the common problems throughout history is that there have been people that constantly exposed the problems, but never did anything about the problem.

People like to say the Supreme Court has ruled that you can’t scream fire in a crowded theater.  If the theater is actually on fire, who cares what the Supreme Court says? However, only screaming “fire” is not enough.  You need to get the fire fighters coming.  If the fire is small enough, get a fire extinguisher and put the fire out.  Freedom of speech is not granted by the Constitution or the Supreme Court.  The Constitution and the Supreme Court can only acknowledge what we already possess.  God has given us certain rights, regardless if the Constitution or the Supreme Court allows those rights.  Too many people are playing “gotcha” with all the bad things that are going on.  Then, they sit back down in the theater seat and assume that if they exposed it, someone else will fix it.

Life rarely works that way.  History is full of examples where evil people continued to do evil things until good people finally made them stop.  People’s God-given rights are only safe if they are defended every second of every day by those people.  Your freedom is fought for by defending your rights on whatever ground you are standing on. Thanking a veteran for their service and then giving up your rights to fly on an airplane or to get healthcare makes as much sense as screaming fire in a burning theater, and then sitting back down and waiting to thank the firefighters for their service, if you are lucky enough to survive the fire.
