UN Official: “We Own the Science and We Think That the World Should Know It” (Video)

All the science belongs to us.

If you “own” the science, it’s not science.

Science is a process for developing and testing hypotheses and then turning them into workable theories. But the Left and its authoritarian institutions use “science” as just another cult object to uphold their illegitimate authority and bully the people under its control.

Sometimes they’ll even say it out loud.

Melissa Fleming, Under-Secretary for Global Communications at the United Nations at WEF ‘Disinformation’ event: “We partnered with Google,” said Fleming, adding, “for example, if you Google ‘climate change,’ you will, at the top of your search, you will get all kinds of UN resources. We started this partnership when we were shocked to see that when we Googled ‘climate change,’ we were getting incredibly distorted information right at the top. So we’re becoming much more proactive. We own the science, and we think that the world should know it, and the platforms themselves also do.”

Melissa Fleming’s scientific background? She has a MA and MS in Broadcast Journalism and a BS in German Studies from Oberlin. The latter at least should come in handy.

I’ve written about the UN’s involvement with Big Tech censorship before.

For example, Facebook is using UN rules to censor conservatives, including Trump.

When Facebook’s Oversight Board issued its verdict on Trump, it did not cite a single item of United States law, including the First Amendment, but cited the Rabat Plan of Action, and articles of the UN’s International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), OHCHR, a UN Special Rapporteur to the Human Rights Council, and the UN’s International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

American law does not apply on Facebook. UN law does.

The Rabat Plan of Action, which Facebook’s Oversight Board used to justify the censorship of President Trump, declares that states are obliged to restrict speech that “amounts to incitement to discrimination, hostility, or violence” citing ICCPR articles 19 and 20. The UN’s ICCPR Article 19 allows restricting expression for “the reputations of others” and “public order”. Article 20 orders a ban on “propaganda for war” and the “advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence.”

These are a few of the various UN regulations, treaties, and conventions cited by Facebook’s Oversight Board. And while all this may sound like meaningless UN gibberish to most Americans, these UN rules define what you can and can’t say on the internet.

The UN doesn’t own science, but its tyrannical bureaucracy does own speech. Our speech.
