Never Give Up!

Have you ever started to do something and because it was so hard to do, you just quit? When you quit on something, chances are, in the end, you will have wished you would not have done so.

For example, take a look at the Navy SEALs.

When you look at the Navy SEALs, you see how hard they train to become SEALs. Only those who really want to be there keep training and training until the end. Every time someone quits, you can always see that look on their face like, I know that I should not be doing this.

My family and I have a Navy SEAL training documentary series which follows a group of men on their quest to be SEALs. During the training, we saw this one guy (among many others) quit. Another SEAL in training (who had not quit and was still training) said, “Yeah I’d like to go home and take a hot shower, but after that you’d regret it for the rest of your life.

One time, I got this really cool LEGO spider project. This spider was a project that had to be put together and then after it was put together, you could push a button and it would crawl all over things. When I first started putting it together, I was very excited and sure of myself. However, it was not that easy. I probably tried to build it 2 or 3 times. I became so frustrated that I just said, “I quit.” However, when I said that, my dad looked at me and said, “If you quit now, you are going to regret it. Do it again.”

Although I was very mad, I did it again, and I finally got it. I said to myself, “Never quit.”

I am homeschooled. This used to happen when I would start doing my homeschool work and I would get stuck on a problem. Then I would start whining like a big baby with wet diapers on. Yet, my mom kept assisting me until I always got the problem done.

Today, every time I get stuck on a problem, I said to myself, “Every problem has a solution. Never Quit.” And I have gotten every single problem done.

If you ever feel like you just want to quit on something, think twice. If you say to yourself, “Don’t give up,” the Lord will help you as you push forward in your endeavor (Philippians 3:14).

Do not quit, work diligently until you get it done. In the end, you’ll be so glad that you did!
