In the early 2000s, our ministry team had the opportunity to meet with Dr. D. James Kennedy from Coral Ridge Ministries in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, only to be held over by him for three hours after our interview. Listening to him tell us stories and experiences that he had in his 30-plus years of ministry was quite edifying, to say the least.
After Dr. Kennedy passed on September 5, 2007, I was called and asked to preach to his congregation. I did so without hesitancy and with great honor. A couple of years later, I also had the opportunity to speak at a high school assembly in the school that he started for his own daughter.
